What if your relative burned to death because the fire fighters could not get to the scene due to someone parking in the fire route?

Parking in a fire route ticket
I got a ticket for parking in a fire route. I was wondering what I can do to fight this. Here's the scenario:
I went in to work to speak with my boss about the summer. I work for the City of Toronto but the facility is also junior school (TDSB), and all spots were taken and cars were even doubled up blocking other cars. I parked in a spot that was spray painted with "no parking" on the curb-stupid i know, but not in the round-about for the school so still shouldnt be considered first route.
The ticket is one of those old style paper ones, not the new shiny/waxy yellow ones they give. The details are written in some sort of pencil or somethng and are almost impossible to read unless you hold it upto the light, and even then its still hard. The officer signed his in pen-which is weird..
How can I fight this ticket? Plead innocent or guilty? ANY help is greatly appreciated!!

My fire dept would have pushed your car out of the way with the bumper of a very large and heavy truck . We`ve done it before . Suck it up princess and pay the fine .

Did you have your hazard flashers on too - making it okay? Pay the ticket and keep it in mind for next time.

Pay it and suck it up. Asking to fight this is just asking for flame. I have parked in a fire route before and got this ticket also, which I paid immediately because I knew I was wrong. I don't understand why people keep stating they want to fight it despite the fact they clearly knew they were wrong. Maybe you can only learn a lesson if your family have to die in a fire because firefighters can't get access cause of your blocked car?

i wasnt actually in the fire route though, maybe that wasnt clear in the story. the spot i was in was in front of a dumpster, thats why it said no parking. the round about for the school parking was clear.

always fight it. Park in a fire route that you know would get other people killed incase there was a fire. and if you get a ticket fight it.
Request a trial, and they might lower the fees just for showing upLast edited by circumventer; May 29th, 2009 at 11:09 PM.
