Whenever I see posts like this I cringe. As someone who works in media/advertising, this job description is bogus. You don't want a social media EXPERT, you want:

- Someone who can spot trends, and has a passion for exploring new things
- Someone who understands the differences of each social media platform and how they can be used
- Someone who has a deep understanding of marketing communications and how to structure campaigns and messaging
- Someone who understands DATA, how to draw INSIGHTS from that data - and perhaps one of the most fundamental skills of all - pivot tabling.

And for the record...you're not going to get anything more than a 2nd year university student looking for some quick money with that kind of arrangement.

Even if it wasn't part time, based on how this is posted I don't think they are probably willing to pay for what they are asking for.

Anyone competent with that experience and also being bilingual shouldn't have an issue getting a decent paid full-time job. So unless there are great perks like working from home and above average pay I don't think they'll find anyone.

Just judging by the internal job postings I creep up on occasionally... Anything asking for 3-5 years experience pays at a grade level thats middle of the pack. Not entry level... Not management either... But still $50k-$60k/yr...

You'd be surprised, its not just a customer service position. This is the first stop for most communication with your company. Its a marketing roll Urban Poet is in the range, but I'd say it would be on the higher end based on the actual posting above. The posting for someone decent with real experience would be around the $60,000 range(Full-Time).

Depends... I've seen what the guys @ the marketing department do @ my company. It seems like just twitter, facebook etc... But they have huge campaigns and analyze everything to ensure the message gets to the customer effectively. Because honestly... Anyone can just throw up posters and ish online.

All those successful websites?
All those HUGE youtube stars? They spend a lot of time getting their word out... That filipino kid Nigha nigha spends days making those comedy videos. He spends a lot of time targeting them to his demographic...

The joys of throwing ***** at the wall and hoping it sticks. When the job market is a mess, you get postings like this.

Are you talking about Nigahiga? The Japanese American who's videos are for kids but he is mid twenties by now.
