Patagonia by a mile....just bc the logo (and name) on that jacket looks like it cost $29.99 from Walmart.

Quality wise, probably similar id assume.

If you just want a “puffer jacket” I suggest going to old navy

Have had this jacket for a while. Super comfy, and ultra basic. You need to remember though this provides not much more warmth than a thick fleece sweater - It needs to be layered when you get near negative digits in my opinion. I know its sold as a sweater, but I see so people wearing this around in seriously chilly weather and I think they are nuts. I have a 550 fill North Face jacket that is similar looking, but double as warm so Im not sure how this Fill count system works.

I wonder how is this Patagonia compare with Arcteryx Cerium LT?
I have purchased Eddie Bauer Downlight Alpine (800 fill power, 90% down, 10% feather) over the weekend for $132 plus taxes.

Eddie Bauer Alpine might not be exactly the same light weight as Panagonia or Arcteryx Cerium LT, but it might be a cheap alternative to think about?

Liveoutthere looks cheaps, if you look in the details, it looks horrible. For that price/quality range, you should get an Eddie Bauer.

I also have this jacket for a few years. Not as warm as advertised 800 fill is a bit misleading. My Northface 550 fill is actually warmer then this jacket by a long shot. But, this jacket is not as bulky. Think I might try Arcteryx , type layer jacket for my next buy.

Sweater: a knitted garment typically with long sleeves, worn over the upper body.

Puffer jacket: signature quilted jackets with sections that are "puffy" between the stitching.

Seems clear what it is to me. But hey, if you wanna price it at $200-$300 it's gotta be something special sounding, like "down sweater jacket".

Last time I checked I didn't work in the marketing department for Patagonia.

Maybe not, but you implied it's something above "puffer jackets". You also assumed, rather condescendingly, that he can only afford Old Navy. Not everyone wants to pay for the name and marketing, regardless of wealth.

There are clearly different quality levels of "puffer jackets". If you just want the look, there are many that can be had without down insulation and without a great warranty. I have nothing against Old Navy, I buy jeans/shirts there from time to time.
The child throwing a temper tantrum because of being told to look there isn't my fault.

If you don't think this is a good deal, don't buy it, but there are clearly many similar jackets in this price range, if not more.
Same could be said for people who spend $900 on a Canada Goose Parka vs $100 on a parka.
