hi
hi ... you can pay anything with credit cards . . . simply call the company you owe money to tell them which bill youd like to pay then . . . say you would liek to pay using visa or whatever card you have.
they will charge it just make sure you get a autherization number at the end and write it down. so if anything happens later you can track the payment.
p.s: some companies dont accept visa like toronto hydro they will tell you that over the phone. good luck

Good luck trying to pay your mortgage with your credit card.
The bank will laugh you right out.

Most likely pre-authorized payment from your bank account

You can pay most bills with a credit card, but probably not all. It depends on the company. For example, I can't pay my electricity bill with my credit card, unless I go through a 3rd party company which will tack on an extra charge.

in most cases you can't pay off any loans with more credit. It's to prevent you from the proverbial robbing peter to pay paul kind of thing.

if you pay your bills from online payment using your credit card. credit card will charge you interest starting on the day you made the payment. the only way to avoid those interest is calling each company and ask them to charge your credit card directly. you prob can't charge your mortgage into your credit card, but most insurance company let you charge their premium from credit card. that is the biggest bills that i can charge to my credit card and earn points.

People do this all the time, it's called consolidation.

I use Mosaic WestJet Gold - I pay everything with credit card except mortgage which you cannot do. Some utility companies are not set up to bill direct to credit card although I think its a matter of time only. I believe I have 19 days before interest gets tacked on to my card to pay all bills.
Westjet Gold allows any flights in North America for 1600 airmiles. That was the big selling feature for me.

If you plan to pay your mortgage (low interest) with a credit card (high interest) you are going to get yourself in trouble pretty quickly.

yah that's different. I never seen a loan with a grace period. If this was possible with revolving credit I'd just have 5 credit cards and never pay them off... ever

In BC, you can pay your Hydro bill with your CC, it's just not advertised. Ask for the Convenience Bundle, you'll be required to be on Preauthorized Payments, and the Equal Payment Plan, and then they'll let you pay your bill automatically with your CC.

Must be a closely guarded secret because there isn't even any option for CC payments in their Pre-Authorized Payment Plan Application Form: http://www.bchydro.com/rx_files/serv...rvices2050.pdf
Or would they be automatically tacking those BS Spectrapay fees on to the pre-authorized payments without the customer's knowledge?

Don't ask me how but I got this set up a couple years back. It has been charging my Visa card every month with the exact amount of the bill (no service charges).
