Well, for $30, I should not open an account if I know this.
My CT option master card still accepts some bill payments like gas, utility, property tax bill payment.
A soft check is one where a company just wants to verify some basic information like your name and address, but no credit information. It has no impact on your credit score.
I consented to the third party check when I registered for my own account as well.
And just to be sure, I pulled up my TransUnion credit report right now, and saw no credit history inquiry made by Paytm at all.

It says that Quebecers can't send money..what?
Anyway, linked my bank account to try and pay my Tangerine which is due next week.

Here are some payees that other Montrealers/Quebecers may be of interest :

Hydro-Quebec
Montreal's municipality and school taxes
FTQ (!!)
cityfone
Tangerine
Rogers Bank MC
The Personal Insurance Co (La personelle)
Dejardins VISA/MC

Also signed up for the CTFS Options MC and got approved yesterday..to pay for bills and get 0.8% CT money, but Paytm is better since I can use my Rogers MC at 1.75%
Bah at least I got like $15 bonus CT money and 4% CB at CT from now on (and CT money at Sport Check/Sport Expert)

Are there any other options besides paytm where it provides the same level of service? (Competitor)

Most likely will ask you to fund with your bank account, haven't tried yet.
But can still benefit from the 2% bonus if you haven't maxed out the 1k yet this month

Weird thing on my end. My spouse made a 50$ payment to hydroquebec using PayTM with her MasterCard credit card.

I see the 50$ PAYTM transaction online on capital one's website but I see TWO 50$ transaction on Hydroquebec's website (so 100$).
Note there is no pending transaction on my capital one credit card.
Seems I am getting a free 50$!!

So what you add your bank account on paytm and pay your credit card that way?
‘Where is the 2% cash back going to?

Try typing in the biller name and see if it's recognized.
It goes to your Paytm cash account. You can use it to pay your next bill.

The closest is Canadian Tire Options Mastercard, in terms of the ability to pay certain billers not normally accepting credit card payments.

hope someone can clarify this for me, how do you pay property tax with it? let's say my property tax is $500 a month, and $500 comes out automatically from the bank account, do I just pay it with the app and city will skip auto deductions? thanks in advance
Normally the pre-authorized payment is setup to retrieve the outstanding balance automatically from your bank account. If you paid through Paytm well ahead of the scheduled pre-authorized withdrawal date, the outstanding balance will become $0 and therefore no further payment will occur. You may want to confirm with your biller just in case though.

Never experienced this before. Are you sure one of you didn't pay the other 50 from another credit card? Hmm seems too good to be true.

I thought of this as well so I checked my own PayTM account and there is no 50$ transaction for hydroquebec...I really dont get it.
