So PayTM now charges for all AMEX payments? 3%? While it is worse than Plastiq 2.5%, it is still a backup option I guess.

Or does Enbridge or property taxes not accept AMEX via PayTM anymore?

When trying to pay Enbridge, Toronto Hydro or Toronto Water, I see no convinience charge.

Before I go ahead and pay say $1000 to each of these, will it be charged as a cash advance? Just want to prepay to get points.
So you're guilty of the "manufactured spending" they referred to in their most recent newsletter/email to all PayTM customers.

Just received an email that you can get 2% back on all payments:

Until January 31, 2018, customers will receive 2% Cashback when they make a bill payment. The maximum Cashback per customer for the month of January will be $20.

You can get more information about this offer here. If you have any questions email us at care@paytm.ca

Looking at the details on the web site looks like it includes CC payments

Woohoo, another $20 is definitely better than 0 and they even allow for credit card payments! Hopefully they realize that without being able to pay by credit cards, their business model won't work in Canada.

What they want us to do is to pay with cash instead of CC similar to the PayTM India.
Have too many phones... This is how I limit my monthly phone payment.

It is time to pay my utility bills in advance. But I will wait until my next MC billing cycle before paying to get my maximum delay.

I owe around $1030 on my Power Smart loan with MB hydro.
Sounds like the perfect time to clear that off early, and get a free $20 on top of the $15.45 from Fido MC!
But I will wait until the 25th for the new billing cycle.

That's not MS'ing. That's just pre-paying to those payees. OTOH, if a refund cheque was requested from those payees (university tuition fees seemed to be a common outlet) then yeah, that was abusing the tool. But like @Speedy1 said upthread, how much really could you MS with this type of method. It takes time and gall to ask for it more than 2 or 3 times, whereas you could be busy with other things more important, like pub crawls.

Business won’t work in Canada/North America without accepting credit cards. @PaytmCanada Do you understand?
😎 "How do you like to pay?" "American Express!" 😄
