does anyone pay their mortgage with a credit card for points/rewards? opinions?

Thanks
The majority of mortgages can only debit payments from bank accounts.

Has anybody received there e-gift card from Ratesupermaket.ca?
I applied and was approved back on Dec 5 2017.
My status switched to 'Approved'.

We have been notified of your approval by the credit card issuer. The next step is for us to be notified of the activation of your credit card. Activation is defined as making a first purchase on the credit card. When this happens, your status will update to 'Active'. Please ensure that your new credit card has been activated and used at least once.

Are you serious? I also thought my base Mastercard would be cancelled when I applied for the World Mastercard. There is nothing in the application process that states that you cannot apply if you have an existing Mastercard!
I am but TBH I think it's BS. I applied for the World Elite which was probably a stretch. But I read that if you don't qualify they will set you up with the next level down. World should have posed no problem for me. I don't know why they just didn't approve that one.
I think rather than be offensive they chose to be kind and gave me that explanation.
They also mention if I want to uprade my card there is a different application for that. But then I'm sure it's directly through PC and I won't get anything from ratesupermarket.ca.

Please let me know how your application goes.

Sheesh! I guess there's nothing I can do about that now. We'll see what happens with my application. Worse case if I'm denied, then I guess I just take two dings on my credt score. :(

If they'd let me, I would lol, but the bank doesn't like their loan being paid off by more credit

Mine is showing as declined although it was approved and I activated my card today. This seems so scamy, especially seeing how this has happened with others.

I hate this sort scamy crap. Gotta wait 4 weeks now till I can submit an inquiry and then wait another 3 months to see if they end up honoring the promo. This is honestly just bad, they are obviously making this as painful and annoying as possible so you'd go away and not get the gc.

I would not recommend dealing with them to anyone.

What are the dates when you applied and when you activated your credit card?
If you applied in November and just activated today it could be a problem...
they may have assumed you never intended on activating if you waited too long.

You also need to use your card within the first billing cycle after you activated the credit card,
so there's also a 3rd step.

I applied Jan 3rd, activated my card after I received it yesterday and I also used it. They are simply being scammy, I don't think I saw anyone else who got his without some shenanigans like this in this thread.

I read the terms prior to applying and I'm pretty sure that everything with my case is in order if that's what you're implying. They simply put my application status as declined which is as if they were lying to your face and you got to wait 4 months so you can "dispute" and then another three months to get a reply or something if you end up getting something, that's not what was listed on their initial offer page.

I tried applying through ratesupermarket, but it doesn't even give me the option to select World Elite. I shouldn't have any issues with approval on it either, so it is kind of weird that it defaults to the regular PC Financial Mastercard. Decided not to go through with application.

Not sure if the promo was extended into January before or after you applied.
I know the terms say January 1st, but who knows when they decided to extend it.
I distinctly remember it was written somewhere on the website as being offered until December 31st.

That is why I submitted during boxing day.

Yea, I did not have a choice either... I think it maybe based on household income.
