Has anyone tried Civ 6? Is it as unfinished as everyone says?

I tried 5 for a bit but it just locked up on me when I was about 90% through a domination victory on an extra large map, so I've gone back to Civ4:BTS. The general consensus seems to be that 6 isn't worth it right now, and that I should wait a year or two for them to release the expansions and fix it.
Could HAVE, not could OF. What does 'could of' even mean?

That's the general consensus with *most* Firaxis games. That said, Civ 6 is easily the most complete experience the franchise has had in a vanilla game since Civ 3 as far as I'm concerned. And some of the changes are actually pretty great. I'd say it's worth grabbing on sale in its current state if it's cheap.

I've never had Civ 5 lock up before. Some really slow late game AI turns on really large maps, but never lock up.

Your requirements are not that heavy. Can you please mention your maximum budget?

Here's a build similar to Joeyjoejoe's, but I tried to shave off a few bucks where I could without sacrificing much performance or quality (since you seem to be price sensitive).

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel - Core i5-7400 3.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($237.50 @ Vuugo)
Motherboard: MSI - B250M PRO-VD Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($90.25 @ shopRBC)
Memory: Corsair - Vengeance LPX 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($62.98 @ Amazon Canada)
Storage: Crucial - MX300 275GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($124.00 @ Amazon Canada)
Video Card: EVGA - GeForce GTX 1060 3GB 3GB GAMING Video Card ($261.99 @ Newegg Canada)
Case: Thermaltake - Versa H15 MicroATX Mid Tower Case ($38.00 @ Vuugo)
Power Supply: EVGA - 450W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($52.00 @ Vuugo)
Total: $866.72
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

At just $200 more than your proposed route, you're getting a much more "future proof" and reliable machine.

EDIT: Just saw this GTX 580 4GB on sale for $275 at Mike's: https://www.mikescomputershop.com/product/8295695

Outstanding value!

Is prey worth it for around $38?

Nevermind, grabbed it off cdkeys for $39.89. Key didn't work at first and there were 2 lines, so I only entered the top 1 and it worked, not sure if the other one works or not.

Good to hear. I think I'll wait a bit until it drops in price and gets more refined then.

I've always been on the fence about 5. This was my first serious attempt at a long game, and it just froze on the 'choose production' button and won't let me end the turn. Nothing I try will fix it, and I hadn't saved in a while. The game was starting to bore me a bit, so I didn't continue.

Vanquish PC Max settings gameplay. Even with Youtube's crappy compression it still look significantly better than the old console version. Have a lot of games on my plate already but definitely looking forward to grabbing this on sale in the near future

Civ 6 is good but man religion is annoying as hell. wish i could just disable it. especially if you get a ghandi on your map prepare for non stop missionarys in your doors lol

I personaly thought civ v with the north amercian xpac to be the best ive played. (but i am by no means a master as i prefer its more simplistic form then civ 6)

I bought it off Steam but I have not installed it yet. I might get around to it over the weekend.
If you buy Bayonetta and Vanquish together, both games are 20% off each. Worked out to about $38 for both games and no tax.

Digital Foundry compares Vanquish PC to the PS3 version:

PS3 version is 720p native resolution has unsteady framereate between 23-30 frames per second.
The PC supports higher resolutions and has uncapped framerate support or you could lock it to 60 fps.

Anyone ever played Papo and Yo? This past long weekend I was trying out a bunch of unplayed games I got from bundles, this one hooked me and I finished it last night. If you enjoy short relaxing games like Brothers, ABZU, Journey ect I'd recommend this. Gorgeous visuals, relaxing gameplay and a cool metaphorical story. One of the most artistically unique games I've ever played. Surprised how slept on it appears to be despite having an Overwhelmingly positive rating on Steam.

The question is, is it worth the price?. I love my I7 but its overpriced.

If I can buy a Ryzen for way cheaper. I could support the competition.
then get 1600 or 1700 for the value

Steam summer sale starts tomorrow. I knew something was going on when some pubs started upping their regular prices a few weeks ago haha.

I surprised myself with a lot more than I expected in the winter sale but right now my wishlist is pretty thin:

Rimworld
Shadow Warrior 2
The Bunker
Cities: Skylines After Dark expansion

Shadow Warrior 2 is on my list too. Hoping it finally gets that coveted 75% discount. There's some recent stuff I want like Prey, Dirt 4 and Nier but I doubt those will get discounted enough for me to bite. Hopefully I'll pick up some of the older stuff on my list like Firewatch, Inside, SOMA, The Witness and The Division
