A question from someone on the Senior max Limit Discount of $ 50.
Sorry I did not take that into account.

I did use $ 80 - 20 % of $ 400.

I am not sure IF it does default out that way as I have never made a purchase of really any value on Seniors day.

How does the new Esso program with with the Speedpass keytag? The only loyalty option is the Esso Extra points.

It's still a "coming soon" thing I think - I asked them if setting your PC Mastercard as the form of payment in Speedpass+ app works the same as paying with PC Mastercard at the pump. Their reply didn't really answer the question so I'm waiting for a response to my follow-up question - but he did address the fob:
"Thank you for contacting PC Optimum Member Care.

The PC Optimum program brings what you love about the PC Plus and Shoppers Optimum programs together into one single loyalty program. It gives you the simplicity of using one points system and one card or app. Additionally, you have the opportunity to earn PC Optimum points when you fill up at participating Gas Bar locations. Participating Gas Bars are located at our Loblaw grocery banner locations.

You may also receive personalized offers for Gas Bar spends i.e. Fuel up for $40, earn 5,000 PC Optimum points. Please be advised that redeeming points for fuel purchases is not allowed.

Moreover, only a PC Optimum card or PC MasterCard can be used to earn PC Optimum points at the pump. If you are using the PC Optimum App or key fob you will be required to pay in the kiosk in order to earn points."
That'll likely change in the near future once they figure out a way for you to add PCO as a loyalty card.

So I take it that this is a common thing with them and not giving points?

I am in a battle with them about this right now. So far no progress. The screenshots helped and apparently they are now forwarding my request to a specialist, and requesting a picture of the receipt as they can't find the transaction. I have the receipt at home and a screen grab from my pc financial credit card, will send it to them, they better bend, if they don't, I will give them a call as it's unacceptable. I basically filled up gas right as it jumped by 10c per litre, I didn't need gas at the time but did it just to get these points.
Yes, after they outright rejected me the first time, I opened another points inquiry (what other option did I have?) and the 2nd time, they replied with the same run around as you: requesting a picture of the receipt, for a transaction that shows up right there in the PCO app. So, anyway, I sent them the picture, and that's where I stand now. I too, went to Mobil even though they were more expensive than others because I figured it'd still come out cheaper after the point award, but I guess I learned my lesson now.

Hi ! I normally do not use Esso but got stuck on the highway.

I purchase $ 45.20 worth of gas - 35.7 Litres and I received 350 PC Points automatically.

They were base points - I did not have a bonus voucher or offer .
I have never had a bonus offer for gas from PC.

Virtually the same payback as Shell now with the 3X airmiles.
Shell has certain limitations though.
However I will stick with Shell as they always give me a free coffee.
Paid with a PC card? I suppose no.

No support right now. I saw a message where they said that they hope to bring PCO to SpeedPass by the end of the year.

YES definitely paid with a PC WE. So I will see a further 1% later in the week - so 450 points.
BUT I would see the same 450 PC points at ANY gas station - including Shell and Irving - with the 1 % back.

General confusion on whether a PC Optimum card was actually required. The lady said no but the man said yes. So they tapped the keyfob.
They will have to get that straightened out.

Not really common, at least not in my experience. Every once in a while there will be a product on the offer I bought that didn't get registered, but those are usually resolved very quickly with no questions asked. Because Mobil is not PC Plus directly it's proving more difficult.

I wish I had gotten that message instead of the one I got saying the offer expired after a certain time (I guess implying I had purchased after the offer expired) or I had to load the offer to my card (I guess implying I hadn't loaded the offer). Telling them I had used the offer well before it expired and I HAD loaded my offers brought an emailed request for me to send a scan of my receipt.

I had to call them and after quite a long useless conversation the rep checked and told me there was a glitch in their system that wasn't awarding points for the gas offer.

Being the second points offer in one day, one for a grocery item, the other for gas, that I had to do a Points Inquiry for missing points I'm getting annoyed with this program. The offers aren't as good as they used to be and I'm jumping through too many hoops to get points owed.
Yep that's what they initially told me. I sent them the requested receipts yesterday and this morning I got another email...asking for bunch of info that's already on the receipt....so i attached the receipts again and typed out answers to all their questions....now I sit and wait.

Truth is SDM has a history of doing crazy things...

On the complicated side... enforcing limits on items with Points (ie Milk)

Or on the simplistic side, not allowing WUS (When You Spend) Offers to stack...

Guessing it was one of these 2 that was the downfall to getting the Missing Points from the Electronics Offer to stack with the 20x the Points Event

For kicks, I checked out the recent SDM Flyer that advertised this 20x the Points Instore Offer (Saturday ~ August 4th) and found this disclaimer (NEW ?) in the T&Cs on Page 10 of said Flyer

[/b]

IMO, that gives SDM an out just about whenever they wish as far as stacking / double dipping for points.

If you are to try again, I would do so WITHOUT any reference to the previous PCO Earns on the transaction, and no links to the previous inquiries / replies, and probably go other channels than linking via the website or App to the transaction record. Just file a seperate Missing Points Inquiry or call the CSR Line directly.
That would be a fair reason to decline the points award.

Still no reply yet.

Interesting to note that if the points to be awarded exceeds 50,000 the first line representative has to refer the case to a 'specialist'.

So now that Esso is part of the program, has anyone had an offer for bonus points for Esso yet?

So it's defenitly not as good as Mobil. Here I'm received (when I pay with PC MC), 40 pts/L (2 regular pts and 20 pts because I pay with a PC MC) with the usual 30 pts/$ that my card provide when I shop at their location.

No it is definitely not as good.
At Esso:
10 points per litre
and 10 points /$ with PC WE
( Close to 2 cents per dollar - with current gas cost )

At Mobil :
40 points per litre ( are you sure on this ?)
and 30 points /$ with PC Card
( CLose to 7 cents per dollar - with current gas cost )

However there are very few mobil stations around here and Esso are everywhere.

Was it an offer you held over from previous week/s? I had that happen with a Saputo cheese offer. Didn't get the points after purchase, waited forever for an online points inquiry, and when I finally called in, they had a heck of a time finding it in my offers history.
No it was just a normal offer. Im just gonna call in if I dont hear back soon.

What's the consensus, bonus offers aside is it better to collect Esso extra points or PC Optimum at Esso gas stations?

If you fill up medium or premium grade at Esso, way better to keep it in Esso pts instead of PC Optimum pts

I called and told them I would not be sending in my receipt or answering any more emails. Today I got an email from No-Reply <noreply3@membercare.pcoptimum.ca> reminding me to send in my receipt or they would close my "case" in 5 days. The email also said "To respond with more information or questions, you can reply to this email. We kindly ask that you do not delete or change the reference number in the subject line of this email." SMH!!!

But then I opened my app and the Points Adjustment of 10000 points had been applied. After they told me yesterday to just wait 72 hours.

Truly bizarre and poor customer service.
