Hi all,
I have a video collections in my computer, mainly in Real media format. I would like to watch those video in my TV (sitting in my comfy sofa) instead of in front of my monitor. Basically, I'm looking for a device to transmit video and audio wirelessly to my TV.
I was looking at those media hub, however, they don't support Real as they're content specific. I want to see entire desktop on my TV.
Anyone know if there's such a product out there?
Thanks!

You will need to get a video out on your computer, a lot of vdo cards come with a s-video out. then all you need is a wireless A/V transmitter which you can pick up at the source.

I am looking for the same thing. You want something like this, which takes audio and video inputs and transmits them over channel 3 or 4 to any TV in a certain range.
More flexible than the a/v repeater units which transmit over 2.4 GHZ but require a single transmitter plus a receiver for each TV.

Instantly Sends Live Audio & Video Signals To ALL the TVs in Your Home Without Cables.Transmitting range of more than 1000 feet.Wireless Transmission of audio and video signals through walls floors and air.Eliminates the problem of running wires to the receiving TV sets.Operates on UHF TV channels 14, 15, or 16.Can be used with: VCRs, Video cameras, DVD, Laser disc, Security systems, TV games, TV monitoring systems, etc.You can transmit live video from your VCR or camcorder to all of your TV sets.Simply connect the video output connector of your VCR to the Video Sender's input connector, then tune your TV to Channel UHF 14.Built in antenna length: ½" collapsed, 17" extended.Antenna impedance: 50 Ohm.Standard NTSC TV, output level 52 dBmV, 400 to 540 MHz.Input power: 18 VDC, AC/DC power adapter included.Dual RCA to RCA Cable included for audio and video connections.Channel tuning tool included, shown on top of box in slot.Comes with instructions.Dimensions: 185(L) x 140(W) x 32 (H) mm, about 7" x 6" x 1.5".

I think that the xbox is a great solution, it plays many media formats and being able to play games is a plus! You can also use the linksys WRT54G routers as a wireless bridge for your xbox if you flash it with 3rd-party firmware.

if your a/v transmitter operate at 2.4Ghz range, would it interfere with your wireless network running at the same frequency??

Jul 8th, 2005 01:55 PM #12Yes, that would be the potential problem with this approach. The plus here is that the video quality should be perfect. The downside to the UHF approach is that if the TV doesn't receive a perfect signal, you'll get a fuzzy picture though at short distances, it shouldn't really be an issue.
