I just got the Dell 2005FP pair with my 2400. I now need a good PCI video card w/ DVI. Any suggestion?
I am no gamer, just a decent card will support the native resolution w/ DVI will do, mostly Photoshop work. As cheap as possible.

I thought one needed a "uber" vid card to handle that high resolution setting?

Nope
A FX5200 or a Radeon 9250. Otherwise you can get it cheaper if it's used.Last edited by Riflem@n; Mar 12th, 2005 at 02:39 PM.

Thanks for the quick reply.
I did a quick search in PN.ca, seem those 2 card only in AGP, no PCI. Care to provide a link for PCI?Nope
A FX5200 or a Radeon 9250 is about 50 bucks. Otherwise you can get it cheaper if it's used.

There is a Powercolor Radeon 9250 pci which has DVI. I think this is it here at Stoples... http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/ca...affixedcode=WW
And here is the manufacturers link...http://www.tul.com.tw/global/product...2=143&cat3=290
It's not $50 bucks though ... You should verify the exact model as there are number variations around. Check out your local compu store they may have an OEM version cheaper .Last edited by masterc; Mar 12th, 2005 at 02:51 PM.

Thanks guys,
I am planning to setup dual head, 2005FP (DVI) and 3 years old Samsung 151s (VGA or the 2400 Integrated), as mentioned, mostly photoshop.
Which company drivers is suitable for my need?

You may also want to check out the Powercolor 7000 series. There was a thread on here a few weeks back where these were in clearance at Staples for like $19. On-line it's back at $79 though http://www.staples.ca/ENG/Catalog/ca...affixedcode=WW

For drivers use ATI's latest Catalyst drivers.

Thanks. You guys are the best! (though my gf thinks you all are foe
)
Noob Q: I know ATI and Nvda are graphic chip maker, but does it matter about the card itself brand name?
update: thanks for the review link. FPS isn't the most important for me, however, are all modern graphic cards able to produce accurate color??Last edited by supercheapguy; Mar 12th, 2005 at 03:15 PM.
