That's a serious price drop - these are still selling for $800-$900+ on eBay...

HE1000: 266mm(W) x 191.2mm(D) x 28.5mm~ 38mm(H)

Looks normal to me since it's a solid state drive.

I wonder how replaceable the drive is. With a normal 2.5" drive and 2GB memory which is possible to do with this model (review of the notebook, page 2 details how to upgrade memory), it'd make a really good portable machine. Going from that review, it's one of the best netbooks around at the moment too.

Urgh, to buy this or hold off for an atom based machine... decisions, decisions.

Would be super hot had the screen res been 1280x720 or higher.

This is a boiling deal, considering the steam may cool off as soon as Asus's Eee PC T91 and EeePC T101H hit store shelves..

Rumours has it, these will be going for below 300EUROS.

Now wondering, I am looking for a simple-web-surfing-word2007 net book..
Should I get this, wait for T series or just grab a standard Eee off rfd for 2 bills?

I think they dropped prices because the new asus 1008HA or "sea-shell" should be coming out any day now - and that is one good looking netbook and possibly the thinnest one out there!

why are these things so expensive? Just for people who want the smallest laptop possible?

Coudn't I spend a 1 or 2 hundred more and get a laptop that can actually do more than surf the web?

well actually they are worth the price - i mean for example the asus 1000he which is out now runs almost 9 HOURS of battery and u can run office surf etc. costs less than $450! So for daily use they are fantastic and they are both small and light! it beats carrying ur 15 inch "heavy ones" around and get 3 hours of battery out of them!

my old 1000HA was able to run office and videos, so from a buisness perspective it is very useful. Unless you work for a company that uses nazi security measures lol

$299 Dell Mini 9 w/ a legit copy of OSX. May not be as stylish as the thin Asus, but it is not ugly, and certainly small enough to take with you.

WANT. Price in CAD? Release date?

Basically, a tablet, min. 10 inch, preferrably LED backlit, around 3 pounds or less, with at least 2 GB of RAM possible, min 6-8-hours of battery life all for around 500 = MY DREAMS COME TRUE.

^ Wacom functionality? Like Wacom makes the touchscreen part of it? They do make the best pads.

BTW, anyone know why RFD doesn't have quick reply feature?
