RFD law where you make up your own prices if there aren't any.
No, there really is a law. Next time you go to any grocery store ask an employee. How come none of you know this? If it states 2 for $Y, then it's 1 for half the price of Y, unless stated otherwise. You all have seen this situation before where price for 1 product is listed as higher per unit than for the sale price of 2 items. There is a reason for that - a legal reason.

FIxed! I guess the fine people over at Wal-mart lurk here because the sign now reads 2 for $8 or $4.88 each.
Plus also, both cases scan for $4.88 and the 88 cents per case is removed at the bottom of the bill before the total amount due.

Could you please quote which law and which jurisdiction this is in. It would be beneficial for many shoppers.

I cant find it after trying for 5mins. Like I said, go to a large merchant and ask and you'll get the confirmation you need. I heard of this one from my marketing professor, and read about it years ago, but not recently. I have confirmed this with reputable merchants, including Walmart and Loblaws. It shouldn't be hard for a few of you to ask them.

Stupidstore is the worse for this. Tricky and deceiving. Although the single item purchase is listed, but very tiny. But I've never had issues like someone mentioned. 2 for $8 etc always rings in at $4. Lots of stores do this.

Loblaws used to have on their signs "2 for $XYZ" and no mention of 1 item which would actually ring in half of the 2 for $XYZ price so you wouldn't necessarily have to buy 2 items to get the deal....

But they smartened up and now have on the signs "2 for $XYZ" and in smaller letters price per 1 unit which is higher....and if you buy 1, it rings in the higher price....

I still haven't had time to purchase my Pepsi Throwback....have to stock up before Canada Day!

FE 26 18 is the expiry date on the bottom of my can, so even after they stop making it, if there is enough supply, Throwback Pepsi can still last well into the winter.
I'm stocking up on the next sale. (it was $3.49 for 12 cans a few weeks ago)

It's on sale this week at Shoppers Drug Mart.

My local shopper's doesn't carry it and the next one over is sold out.
(I'm surprised SDM isn't mentioning the Throwback in the flyer...)

Go to Wal Mart and show them the ad. They will price match it.

Okay, but they'll be very strict on the "limit 4", so any more than that means buy the 4 and come back for 4 more.

Did u get some? It does taste very crisp with real sugar. I find sticking it in the freezer for 40 mins gives the best taste.
