I have enough points, so I just go in to a petro gas station. Ask for the fuel saving card, link it onto my account online and then buy?jigz787 wrote: ↑First you need to get perto-points card. This is a reward card so you swipe this card collect points when you buy anything from Petro-canada gas station.
Second you need to get a Fuel Savings Card (5 cents card) from the gas station. They will give you this card for free. This is a re-loadable card. Once you have enough points on your petro-points card you can use those points to re-load this fuel savings card. This card will allow you to save 5 cents per litre of gas price at the pump.
Usually, if you redeem 11,000 Petro-points you can get 200 Litre of balance on your fuel savings card. Remember this is not the 200 litre of free gas... It just allows you to save 5 center per liter upto 200 litre (or your card balance).

Actually I'm trying to slowly get out of this loop, as I find local Petro Canada is regularly higher priced compared to Esso by at least 3 to 4 cents / litre. I will be redeeming all my PC points, and switch my filling up at Esso (and no, I won't be getting their rewards as I agree it's a marketing ploy - I'd rather price shop for cheaper gas instead)Winkle wrote: ↑Whoever came up with the idea is a marketing genius... 200L of gas at today's average Ontario price of $1.25 for regular amounts to $250. $10 off of that equates to a 4% discount but they lock you in for $240 and patroning their gas stations. And then you still get points for gassing up at their stations, which nets you more points and the cycle rinses and repeats itself in an never-ending loop.

I would do the same if I were in you.... But here in Toronto, all Shell, Esso and Petro-can mostly same price... So why not take extra benefits while you have to fill up gas anyways... Thats's why the call in "loyalty program" in marketing terms.wally_walrus wrote: ↑Actually I'm trying to slowly get out of this loop, as I find local Petro Canada is regularly higher priced compared to Esso by at least 3 to 4 cents / litre. They switched from the old reloadable cards to the new "Fuel savings plus" reloadable card last month. All you need to do is go to a petro gas station, and ask for the card. Then you can go home and link it up to your petro points card, and then that'll be it.
Did you link up the Petro Fuel Savings Plus card? Shouldn't really have a problem with the reloading :S...angel_wing0 wrote: ↑strange, i receive the email but i require 6k points @@
