How much is $5 data? 100MB? I am paying Fido $50 for essentially text and 750MB a month as I barely use the voice minutes. Probably 20 mins a month if that.

Is there any prepaid plan good for texting (~$5/mo), minimal or no data & talk usage?

Nationwide ones. I know of regional offerings.

No, they only have regular or micro. You can try to cut it though.

I assumed they were all MultiSim, they only had three in the store. I ended up having to cut it down to a micro (form regular).

Anyways, apparently their SYSTEM IS DOWN right now.

didnt see anyone mention it, but is this a pre-paid plan? or a month to month plan that can be set up through pre-authorized payments via credit card?

Might as well sign up for $20 unlimited text, talk on mobilicity which also runs on Rogers. $22 with tax.

mobilicity coverage zones aren't very good. anything west of mississauga, north of vaughan and east of scarb is into the roaming zone.
can anyone confirm if petro has limited coverage zones as well?

Assess how often you are out of coverage and how often you are not.

None the less, i think Public and Mobilicity are much better option.
