Philips 8.5" Portable DVD/DivX Player on Sale 169.99 Costco
I was at Costco this afternoon in Vaughn and they had the following portable dvd player on sale Philips PET824 8.5" for 169.99 with manufacturers instant rebate. This seems like a pretty good deal. They seem to play almost anything and the one big bonus is the battery life which is up to 6 hours. The majority of reviews are positive as well.

I do not mean to hijack this thread, but I feel I should mention this. For those are looking for something a little cheaper, there's a player at Wal-Mart, Durabrand, that plays DivX, Xvid, on any type of disc I've thrown at it. It's a 7 inch screen, and comes with car charger, AC, etc.
Since it's Durabrand, it does not mention anywhere on it that it can play Divx/Xvid. That was a nice surprise when I found out.
I managed to get them at 55 each (grand opening of new super wal-marts), but I think they retail for 99 regularly.
I was looking at these Philips players myself a while ago at Costco, but I'm glad I picked up the Durabrand.

Doesn't look like the reviews are good for the one with the Ipod docking station only 2.5 battery life

I have been looking at these units for a few months now and the phillilps overall seems to be an overall best performer. Long battery life, divx playback and a good quality picture. There are always portable dvd's that are cheaper but you are getting what you pay for. Screen quality is not that good and the big kicker for me is the battery. If you are lucky you will be able to finish a single movie.

Caution
I bought this player a few months back and it developed a high pitch operation noise after a couple months. I returned it to Costco and bought another one but Guess What! 2 days ago the whirring started on this one.I will return it soon. Other than that it is good.

It's very loud when spinning up (when you first put a disc in) but after that it's fine.
It's a great little player for the price with a good size screen. It was this price back in November or so when I bought it.

I have this too...-$10 of what I paid almost a year ago.
It is not as compatible to DVD recordables as the Polaroids, but the picture is decent, the audio line out is pretty good as well when hooked to the car's tape deck
.
I was surprised to find out after converting a bunch of movies to WMV, this player doesn't play it at all :~)
Be honest, that's a lot of $$ to buy this portable at this day and age, either wait for a 720x480 screen @ this price, or get a $100 whatever player.
