Picket Line Question - Waste Transfer Station Blockade
Curious question: These picketers forming a blockade at the waste transfer stations. Are they legally allowed to prevent you from going inside to use these services (that you regularly pay for)?
I mean, if you simply beeline for the entrance, are they legally allowed to step in front of you, or forcibly block you off? (all this being on public property) The police are really useless in this matter, as they are partially part of the union, them being a union themselves.
They're only allowing one person in every 15 minutes, hand-carrying their garbage. But what makes them the legal authority on what you can or cannot do in a democratic society?

Another reason unions should be abolished.
Thank god we don't have this garbage (zing) here in Western Canada. You guys in Ontario are really overrun with (dis)organized labor...
And if you try to force your way thru they can't even touch you. Just have your garbage in one hand and a cell phone recording video in the other. If they touch you, you have the right to press charges on them.

Yea, these blockades are pointless. Older people are struggling to dump their garbage and others have medical conditions that may prevent them from doing so. It's also hot and humid so this has a negative effect on the respiratory system of seniors and others with health problems.
I'm not sure if it's illegal, but it may be unethical._______________

man if I were you guys I'd take like 10 people and wait outside till 5pm when they go home, and just follow them (to know where they live)
then post their addresses here, and I'd be first one to drive from hamilton to dump my garbage on their front yard...

If that were true, I'm surprised that more people haven't tried that tactic yet. Good idea on the video camera.
I just don't see how they should be "allowed" (by the police, authorities) to let people inside according to their schedule. They don't own the waste transfer station!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somebody should bring a nice big bag of manure right to the picket line, with a couple of holes plucked into it... that should be fun!!

Also, for good measure.. Call Comrade Miller's "Snitch Line" on them (416) 338-0338 ... May as well give the strikers a bit of a hassle with a $340 fine!

man if I was in Toronto I would've organized a nice RFD gathering where we all collect our garbage, rent a UHAUL, and dump all the garbage in the entrance so that when strike ends they will pick it all up...
but seriously someone from toronto should start this guys you have to start doing something to stop this...Toronto's image is ruined for god sakes.

I'm from Hamilton, If I lived in Toronto, i would've started a thread right now asking everyone to bring their garbage say Friday and meet somewhere close to union, and everyone to pay say $10 this way we can rent a truck, collect all the garbage ask those workers to let us in if not we all dump it in the entrance, if they call police, then we will tell them they didnt alow us in...and if the police thing is an issue, I'd call police right now and tell them about this and see what they say, if they say there will be no charges on us for dumping it at entrance, then we'll go ahead with it.
