A picture of Kal-el Coppola Cage, the three-month-old son of Hollywood action star Nicolas Cage and his Korean American wife Alice Kim, caught the attention of fans after it showed up on the Net. It seems that the picture was taken by an amateur that spotted Alice Kim as she was out shopping with her son in her arms. The source of the photo is not known yet, but the picture is now being circulated on the internet through various entertainment blogs worldwide.

Even with his chubby cheeks, Kal-el, who was born on October 2 of last year, has a stately appearance and looks healthy and big for a child his age. He seems to have picked up his mother's widely-spaced eyes. On first glance at the boy, netizens around the world have posted replies, one saying "he's too cute...he takes after his mother more." The Cages married in July 2004. Kal-el is the first child to Alice Kim but the second to Nicolas Cage, as he fathered a 15 year-old son from a previous relationship with model Kristina Fulton.

I've read medical genetic journals saying it's not just one gene but a combination with non sex-linked chromosomes so yes, your father's side has something to do with it too.
