pigeon control

i live on the 15th floor and we seem to have a pigeon problem. I went to this site; http://www.nixalite.com/birdcontrolproducts.aspx but i don't think that i can use the spikes since i would changing the balcony ledge. Can anyone tell me of their experiences with different deterring techniques? i was thinking of getting a wind chime....lame? what about the sound boxes that they sell?

a net screen. We tried everything, in the end that's the only thing that work. Anything you put on the railing will deter them for 5 mins then they just fly over. This was when we were in an apartment. People tried plastic bags flapping, fake owls, slinkies on the railing, everything.

When I was living in a 14th floor appartment, there was a fake owl there, it worked great.
