Pioneer 111D latest firmware problems

I just got this drive based on the recommendations I received here and tried to flash the firmware to 1.29, but I cannot seem to find the north american version. The EU versions give me a "Failed to Move to the Normal Mode" messages.

Any suggestions are welcome

you can try the dangerous brothers firmware. it's a modified version. universal i believe

Thanks for the replies.

I tried those links and they didn't seem to make any difference. reading discs, and copying all fail using nero. swapping the drive with my old LG 4163 works fine.

Guess I will return it and get another LG or Benq 1655

you sure? that is a good dvd writer. maybe it was just the one you got that was bad
