Spotted about 3 boxes of pellet grills at Mississauga Costco (Rodeo Dr.) for the regular price - $550?.. If someone interested to try and price match.
FWIW the GTA stores will mark down to $399 at the end of July, pending stock.

Can anyone who bought the pit boss kamado grill share the dimensions of the box? Want to know if it will fit in my Kia Rondo.

I drove up to Barrie and got super lucky to have the Kamado price matched. It showed 2 in the system but I’m fairly certain they are sold out (or perhaps store clerks holding onto them).

Happy camper here. Thanks op.

Bought the pellet grill a couple weeks back and successfully got it price matched, but now I want the Kamado too because it's such an insanely good price. There is no beating the charcoal taste, but the set it and forget aspect of the pellet grill sure is nice

I have the pellet grill. It's awesome if you want subtle smokiness and are too lazy to monitor a traditional smoker. I am probably 45 min away from the Kanata location unfortunately...if there was a boxed unit in other Ottawa stores, I might be able to help you out.

Edit: Alternatively, I can offer to get you a cash card from the Nepean location that will give you access to the store. I am not sure how it works exactly, but I think if you have a $20 card for example, you can go in and purchase anything you want, and pay the difference. Someone else that has experience with this can chime in. I have been a member for 10 years but never bothered to check :)
Was fortunate enough to have one held for me - fought 416 traffic, and made it to Kanata & back safely. I'm now a Costco member!

i drove from the gta only to buy a broken display model at barrie (at around 7:30pm) last night... i was so annoyed... at the return desk they told me they had 5 more in Orilla - so, why not make the hike, i have already drove 1hr... whats another 30min.

when i got there, the pit bosses were all line up at the cash registers - each held for someone.

I am a happy camper, because i came home with one of them in a box! no display model...

Congratulations. Do you know of a good wood pellet source? Cheapest I found was the Traeger mixes at Costco for 25.99 (33lbs).

Good to know, I was there in Barrie about an hour before you, however I bought mine in Vaughan. Orillia was my backup plan, but I probably wouldn't have had the time to get it last night.

How is the Akorn for a novice? Where did you buy it from.
The Akorn is a fine and affordable way to start kamado cooking. There is a even an advantage in that if you overshoot your temperature they'll cool down more quickly. The downside is that without the thermal mass of a ceramic cooker, the temperature will vary more and you need to keep a closer eye on it. And they will rust.
I bought mine 6 years ago at Lowes for $260.

Do yourself a favour and find one of the Kamados that Costco's selling, well worth the extra $$$ and they'll last forever (unlike the Akorn. I had an Akorn and LOVED it, but it rusted out in about 3-4 years.)
Just this. I know it's more money, but if you possibly can, get the ceramic.

@amitabh9 - did you place one on hold at the Orilla location before you got there or did they give you someone else's that they were holding for?
