Pixel C tablet -25% off

Deal Link:
Savings:
25% off
Expiry:
July 15, 2016
Enter your email on the developer page, and get 25% off Google's Pixel C tablet. So it will be 486$ instead of 649$ CAD.

You do not need actually to do any development on the tablet to be eligible for this discount. You could use it for any use.

It took some time (one hour maybe) to receive an email with a coupon code.

I think you're confused. The Pixel C is an Android Tablet. It's not a Chromebook, and doesn't run Chrome OS.

I might take a few days. I took advantage of this deal a few weeks ago.

No experience with this tablet myself but this is a damn good price...works out to about $490 for teh 64gb verison. for comparison, the samsung galaxy tab s2 is $500 at best buy right now. The pixel c is guaranteed to get Android N and maybe one more version after while the tab S2 is getting marshmallow this month (rumored). Great bang for the buck on the pixel unless you want a smaller screen.

Just register as beta tester for Android N and it will be installed. Now!

Not sure how you came up with 490$ for the 64 GB version, but as OP said:
  • 32 GB comes down to ~560$ [487$ +tax] instead of ~748$ [650$ +tax]
  • 64 GB comes down to ~690$ [600$ +tax] instead of ~920$ [800$ +tax]
As for people wondering how this tablet fares, well from my experience so far (1 month of usage), it's been great performance wise. Very fast responsiveness, apps launch very quickly and screen resolution is beautiful. Battery life is plenty enough about 7-8h with a mix of gaming, live TV, internet browsing and emails. Should be enough to get through a day or 2 of usage for most people. Take note that the battery charges rather slowly, as it takes 3-4h for a complete charge (USB Type C charger).

My only complain is that the latest version of Chrome on the Pixel C introduced a rather annoying bug. When scrolling up or down in Chrome, Chrome sometimes freezes for 10-20 seconds for no apparent reasons. You can either wait for Chrome (10-20 seconds) or press home and come back to Chrome (1 second) for the screen to unfreeze. At least the workaround makes it less painful than waiting 20 seconds every 5 minutes of browsing, but still a minor annoyance. Hopefully it is corrected in a future version.

The pedant in me says:
It's either "25% off" or "-25%" but it can't be "-25% off" if it's going to be a discount.

may I suggest Dell Inspiron 13 i7359-8408SLV Signature Edition 2-in-1 PC currently on sale at microsoftstore.

Slim design, solid quality. I had been playing with it for the last two weeks, very satisfied
13.3-inch (337.82-millimeter) Full HD touchscreen
Intel Core i7-6500U
8GB memory/256GB SSD
integrated stylus

It's CAD 999, but you can apply education discount (10%) and 899 is what you get
Compare to this 499+199 combination, I think 2 in 1 PC is a much better choice
