By the way, you can definitely go online after getting it modded. BUT, Microsoft does not ban right away if it detects a mod. You get flagged and once the banning hammer comes down, that when you get banned from Live. They do this to slow down development of work-arounds for their checks

no not all are moddable, the new liteon drives are not moddable.

Look at the benq example, if the wire is yellow instead it is liteon and not benq.

Its random, but i wouldnt be surprised if you got back a liteon. There is a new method to do the 0079 unlock that is a lot easier so ill be dropping the price of those mods down as well.

Newbie
A couple questions about modding.
I've heard that MS is banning people who sign onto live with modded 360s. Is this when you sign on at the start of the booting or only if you try to play a copied game on live?
I have some legit games that I like playing on live from time to time, so I'm concerned that I'll get banned from live and not even be able to play my legit games online.
I'm not however so worried about playing copied games online...
*edit*
Also, is there any way to unlock the 360 hard drive to be able to transfer files from a USB key or something, in order to store AVI media or anything like that?

here is a better image of the liteon vs benq

when we do the mod we dont void the warranty so you dont have to look for someone to repair the rrod. we can unmod it for free and you can send it back to ms with no issues

most users get banned when they play a game before it has hit the stores. we strongly recommend not even playing the game offline if it hasnt released in stores as it can be tracked...

Tons of ways they find you - not worth it as when you get caught you lost 1/2 the value of your game which cannot go online. If you cant play online sell your xbox as its just a hunk of garbage at that point
Do not mod your system.

Some people don't play online and just like the single player aspect of the games.

Agreed, I prefer single player but if I do play multiplayer it's still going to be offline with a friend or family member.
