Tomb Raider is a gorgeous game! I'm playing it on "4K mode" on my 1080p plasma. Just wow! I typically prefer gaming at 60fps, but for some reason I'm enjoying the 30fps 4k mode better with this game. Maybe all the recent focus on "jaggies" has me hyper aware.

Lot's of fun too.

Digital Foundry and Candyland comparisons between all versions of Resident Evil 7 including PS4 Pro and PS VR:

All versions of RE7 run at a locked 60 fps except the XBox One version which dips between 45-55 fps:

PS4 Pro users to get higher framerates on older games that are not officially patched by the developers of the games for PS4 Pro support.
This means that any games that have any framerate drops should hit their targets, 30 or 60fps, more often.
It would not change games that already run at a constant locked 30fps or 60fps.

It does not make a game capped at 30fps, such as Bloodborne, a 60fps game for example.
This should improve games that run at an inconsistent or choppy framerate like Just Cause 3.

It should eliminate the framerate drops of games like Tomb Raider 1 reboot Definitive Edition (which was never given a PS4 Pro Patch)
which would occasionally drop to 45-55 frames per second on the base PS4 because it runs at an unlocked framerate capped at 60 FPS.

Wow that is a huge deal, might look for a deal for a pro
Good to see them put in the work to make the Pro a worthwhile purchase. This will be the model to get once I get a PS4.

So people have already been testing out the new Boost Mode on the PS4 Pro with older games, and the results are superb. I expect Digital Foundry to be very busy in the coming weeks.

There is a thread on Reddit with details: Reddit PS4 Boost Mode Details

This just makes a PS4 Pro even more enticing. Yo Sony release a white Pro already!

Does EB Games have any promos for trading in an Xbox One or regular PS4 towards a PS4 Pro?

The texture filtering is substantially worse on the PS4 Pro. Check out the 31 second mark and see the label on the bottle on the table, the woodwork on top of the chair, the notes on the door frame, or even the slat wall by the doorway.

I was able to download the PS4 Beta test firmware 4.50 with the PS4 Pro Boost mode through a user on Neogaf that made a dummy account to share with other people.

Some videos of games covered with the PS4 Pro boost mode so far:
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1340939

I am testing some of the games not already covered by the other people in the link above.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is one of those bad games that runs at an unlocked framerate that heavily varies between 35-60 fps on a Regular PS4.
On PS4 Pro with the Boost Mode it runs a lot smoother now at 60 fps. This is one of those games that never received a PS4 Pro patch because it was released before it was mandatory for
all upcoming PS4 games to have PS4 Pro enabled enhancements.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is a better port that runs at a mostly locked 60 fps on a regular PS4 already therefore there is no need to test that one.

My test of Marvel Ultimate Alliance running on a PS4 Pro with the PS4 Pro Boost mode enabled (firmware 4.50).
It runs at a much better framerate than the normal PS4.

My test of Marvel Ultimate Alliance running on a regular PS4 ("PS4 Amateur")

Digital Foundry's old analysis on Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 & 2 on PS4, XB1, & PC (made before PS4 Pro Boost mode was enabled).

For comparison, the last-gen versions of Marvel Ultimate Alliance (PS3 and Xbox 360) run at 720p native resolution and a variable 20-30 fps unsteady framerate.
The old PS3 version runs at a variable 15-25 fps if you force it to 1080p resolution.
