You likely will not need a highchair until you begin solids at 6 months+. Even then I found holding them on my lap was easiest until about 10months. So, absolutely take advantage of sales, but also know you have some time too.
I had a highchair for my first but found it was always in the way. Also, I had no place to store the other chairs for my kitchen table. So, I switched to a booster type highchair that straps onto my existing chair. I had a good one that sould tilt back for when they are really young, also had adjustable height and the tray part came off for when they were older and just needed a booster. That being said, I know of friends who loved their separate highchair.....
best wishes!

Please give me advice on high chair
Sorry to be a dumb father-to-be. It's gonna be my first child so no clue at all. You guys will see me asking whole bunch of questions here I guess.
Toys R Us is having a Evenflo Raleigh - Majestic High Chair on sale, original price is $119 now it's $49.
Two questions:
1. Any of you guys have experience with this model?
2. Will the infant need a high chair or is it something I should consider when he/she gets older?
Thanks guys.

I believe I have the last year or last 2 year model of the said chair and that's a good price. All I wanted to say is that it is a very good chair and my daughter loves it. She started using it when she was about 3-4 months so she can watch us eat at the table. Good thing about this chair - very easy adjustable recline, with lockable wheels, padded seat, very easy adjustable height, easy to clean trays.
Both my friend and I think that it's very useful to have a high chair with wheel as we pushed our LO around the house a lot.Last edited by ayeung; Feb 12th, 2008 at 08:56 PM.

I don't know that model of high chair- but I wanted to mention that the Fisher Price Healthy Start booster chair is the absolute best/easiest to clean booster chair. Toys R US, Real Cdn Superstore all carry it.

Like others I recommend a high chair with wheels. We move ours around a lot. I also recommend you get one that can be folded away for storage. When our first was out of the high chair we stored it away until our second was ready for it.
But my biggest recommendation is that you get vinyl or fake leather as opposed to fabric because the chair is going to get filthy and vinyl/fake leather is easier to clean than fabric.
Another option you may wish to consider but not crucial is the ability to raise or lower the seat.
The seat we have (Peg Perego Prima Pappa) comes with 2 trays, one sits on top of the other so that when the top one gets dirty you can remove it for cleaning and you have a backup already there just in case._______________

+1 on that. We also have Fisher Price Healthy Start Booster Chair in the car for eating out at restaurants. We bought it from the US Walmart for about $25.

We have the FP Deluxe Healthy Care High Chair and it's great. Easy to clean, wheeled, adjustable every which way, and our kid just loves the toy that came with it.

We have the Majestic high chair. My daughter has been using it since she was just over 1 month old. The seat recline enough that she's able to lie in it before she was able to sit up properly. The two toys keeps her occupied and she happily sits there while we eat. The rear storage in the back came in handy.
At $49 it's a bargain IMO. We got it on sale for $70.
We also have the Fisher Price Booster which is great when we go out after she was able to sit up on her own. The compact size made it possible for us to put it just in front of her car seat in the car so it didn't waste any space at all. Highly recommended!
