Trudeau doesn't show up to sign deal and the Liberals can't get the story straight.

No Deal is Better than a Bad Deal: Why Canada Won the TPP By Standing Up for Balanced IP, Culture, and the Auto Sector

The end-game in trade negotiations always generates more than its fair share of drama and last week’s effort to re-work the Trans Pacific Partnership without the United States was no different. Canada was squarely in the spotlight with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau a no-show at a ministerial meeting that was attributed to a scheduling error, but had the hallmarks of gamesmanship designed to demonstrate a willingness to walk away from the deal.

What are the multiple stories the liberals are saying?

Foreign coverage has been brutal but Canadian coverage has been quite nice for Trudeau. Foreign media and officials are basically accusing him of acting like Trump. Snubbing other leaders and making last minute demands to derail a deal. I wouldn't be surprised if Canada gets dropped.

Did you actually expect Canadian media to be anything but nice to Trudeau? LOL.

I don't know why people are complaining. I'm not a fan of Trudeau, but he's in the right here. TPP would have been a disaster for Canada.
Signature removed for political content (quoting our dear leader Justin Trudeau).

Its the conservatives. They hate Trudeau. It doesnt matter if he signed it or not. Its automatic hate. TPP is good if he doenst sign it and TPP is bad if he does sign it. They could care less about the actual deal.

Remember, Liberals are pro TPP. This could be just a tactic to renegotiate the deal.

You don't just not show up. He should of told them he wasn't going to sign instead of not showing up.

Proves my point exactly. Trudeau finessed the country into not signing TPP.

Still not good.

Brinkmanship or faux-pas?
That depends on the final outcome doesn't it.
