OMG! Thanks OP, this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. I just bought 2 helmetcams that can write to SD but they have a max card size of 1GB. Couldn't have been more opportune.
BTW, the cams I got are these

Which I'm mounting to my racing karts. THis is a sample of the video from our first test session.

Thanks again!

I got this 2GB card from Canada Computers for $60 a couple of weeks ago (it's now a little cheaper at $57!) to use in my DS Lite. I'd say it's better than the PNY cards as it's highspeed, which is ideal for the DS Lite and high megapixel cameras.

Jun 25th, 2006 10:28 AM #8No, I got it from Wolf. It was great service actually because they use the borderfree service (www.borderfree.ca) from Canada post. The shipping for 3 of them came to $30 CDN. I think with shipping and taxes, it worked out to around $115 CDN per cam...which is a total deal IMHO.

In case anyone thought PNY is a no-brand, it's not. It's directly manufactured by Toshiba.

Just last week FS had a 1GB Kingston for $40 - 20MIR. I PM BB at $30, then will send in the $20 rebate for a $10 1 GB SD! W00t!
Thats not enough though, I'm about to pick up a 2GB Transcend from TigerDirect:
2GB 150x SD $63
for $63. If you're paying shipping anyway, and I read good reviews about the Transcend with the Canon S3. Too bad the PNY 2GB at tigerdirect doesn't have a speed qualification, but if this is any indication:
CF speed comparison
Than the Transcend 150x is pretty fast. I realise the above chart is for CF memory, and using a DSLR to benchmark the cards, but actually camera write/read speeds are all that matters. Who cares if the card reader transfers quickly if the camera can't keep up to writing the movie data to disk. The chart at least gives an idea of how much the speed varies between brands of memory, written by a camera.

Jul 12th, 2006 05:16 PM #14I remember paying $95 (on sale) at Futureshop for a 128mb SD Card, a steal at the time. The clerk himself was so impressed with the price he called his buddies to get in on the action. How times have changed.
