There are more reasons for buying a light meter than to use it as a
flash meter. Also, I'm not using TTL, it's all manual. As I'm sure you
are aware, the reflected light meter built into our DSLR's can be
fooled easily. I just like to nail exposures the first time.

Flash was always something that I screwed up during my film SLR days. It
was strictly guess-work and the penalty was the price of development. Now
that the pixels are free it's nice to be able bang off predictable shots that
balance flash with ambient.

I don't come here for deals BTW. I come here mostly to kill time at work
because the place is so busy. Hell...I've never even been in any of
the 'Deals' sections. I hang out in the photography/auto/finance subforums
mostly because people there periodically know what they are talking about
and every now and then I can even help a bit.
