http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/arti...rborough-condoTwo more drug labs have been located in a Scarborough condo, a day after police dismantled a meth lab in a suite in the same building.
Police learned of possible additional labs in the building, located near Ellesmere Rd. and McCowan Ave. with information gained from the initial investigation.
The first lab was uncovered Monday on the 30th floor of 190 Borough Dr. Neighbours complained of strange odours and suspicious leakages.
Police said the three labs appear to be connected but did not disclose whether the labs discovered Wednesday were located on the same floor or if they were used to manufacture methamphetamine.
No arrests have been made.
I checked google maps and this location looks rather nice. Is this a good area? I thought these type of labs are more likely to be in houses, not condo's. And the cops say they are multiple drug labs in this building, wow!
Anyone know what the smell is like, just in case I come across one of these thing? Anyone live in this area and thought something illegal was going on?

They're more likely to be where they are least suspected. So houses and condos are generally equal in that respect.
Edit: According to Urban DB, 190 Borough Drive construction started in 2008, completed in 2011, and registered a blink thereafter. So in terms of buildings, it's quite new. I wouldn't be surprised if the arrested person(s), for example, was a renter of a condo unit investor who bought this thing up and rented it out quickly.Last edited by 45ED; Jul 4th, 2012 at 09:28 PM.

It's a nice area- brand new building. Close to STC and other expensive condos. Civic centre is right there and a decent park with a lot of trees/greenery. Stop hating just cause it's in Scarborough

So dangerous to have these labs in a building like this when meth labs have a tendency to, you know, explode. Not that one expects meth cooks to have much regard for the safety of others, or themselves.

Anybody know where the Scarborough weed is coming from? I see so many people getting weed from Lester B. Pearson.

But you can bet that having 3 meth/whatever labs in the SAME new condo is going to have an impact on property values and people's impression of "Scarborough condos"
especially considering just 2 years ago there was that drug lab (sponsored by the security guard and superintendant, lol) found at the "Consilium Place" condos...
People will ask themselves if they REALLY want to live in a neighborhood like that, despite the nice-looking brand-new condos; instead they could get a condo in North York (Yonge/Sheppard, Yonge/Finch, or Bayview/Sheppard) and not have to deal with any of that nonsense.
