Pop-up/Redirecting ads on mobile devices

Image
The above image was merged from two images.

I was in Home And Garden forum when the image on the left popped up. When I hit "Back" on the browser, the web site on the right image showed up.

This is what I got when I copied the address:
http://8ebfa1c2339fb653e2ac-12362a04c38 ... 0yoTgITo#b

Anyone else?

I'm on Koodo using a Motorola X Pure with Android Nougat 7.0.

We have had a few rogue ads like these appear in the past few weeks. If you see it or another one like this please let us know. I'll start looking into this particular one as soon as possible. Thanks for reporting this.

Again. This happened as soon as I entered Off Topic forum.

It's happening again. Coincidentally I got one of those right before this one over at MobileSyrup.

The myth on the Internet is that Canadians are nice people. Those people who say this just haven't been on RFD.

Strangely this is still happening, I already have Chrome's framebusting block enabled.

I've asked our ad team to block the domains listed above, as well as another one we found from a similar pop-up ad. Hopefully this will take care of the issue, but we'll keep an eye out for other pop-up ads (as Tom said, we've seen a bunch of these lately and we're not happy about it either).

In the meantime, if anyone on the forums happens to see another pop-up ad, there are two things that can help us track down the ads quickest. The first is the URL you're being redirected to, as others have already posted above; the second is a snapshot of all the banner ads on the page, if possible (or any identifying info you can give us). From personal experience I know it's often difficult or impossible to see the banner ad that caused the pop-up, so don't worry if you can't figure this out, but in the past this has been the most reliable method of figuring out what ad to block.

Thanks for your patience and your reports, everyone.

I believe I got the same thing a couple times before and I thought it was because I'm on Koodo. Just got it again in the Automotive forum.

I've passed the new reports on to our ad team, including the re-appearance of the bhdsurvey ones. We're opening a deeper investigation to figure out if these are getting past our initial blacklist attempts (and if so, how).

I don't understand it though, I already turned on the frame busting flag in Chrome.
