A quick update: we still have not been able to pin down the exact source(s) of these ads, but in the meantime we've shut off the ad category where we believe all these ads were originating. Thank you all for your patience and all the information you've passed on to us. Please keep sending us reports if any more of these incredibly stubborn ads continue to appear. We hate them as much as you do, and will do our best to root them out.

More of them, freakin' more of them!

Also just out of curiosity, when blocking are you blocking the domain in the redirected ad? I don't think that will help, the redirect will be served from the legitimate CDN and embedded encoded in a malicious script on that. Have to complain to the ad company themselves, since by the time you see that redirected link, it already has redirected a few times. This is probably to make them untraceable by you guys and the ad company.

The myth on the Internet is that Canadians are nice people. Those people who say this just haven't been on RFD.

Thanks everyone for continuing to report these abusive ads. We're shutting down another exchange since the one we did yesterday obviously didn't resolve the issue. We'll continue to post updates and we will get to the bottom of this as soon as possible.

I've noticed that I have been getting these ads at other sites. Maybe it is not from RFD? Also noticed that those reporting it are from the GTA or more precisely close to Markham. Has anyone been to Pacific Mall and used their free WiFi? Or any of the other Asian malls where that particular provider is present?

Come to this section to see if I was the only one getting these. Seems I'm not haha. I got one of those congratulations popups today going into hot deals. Tried a couple times and it kept coming back. Hopefully someone can figure out where it comes from.

I JUST got this, which I think it was trying to redirect me to an ad, but failed because the ad server was not responding.

Didn't think to grab the URLs but I got about a dozen of these in the last 5 minutes of browsing entertainment and hot deals and trying to get here to see if anyone else had them. First time getting them. Every single one starts with a loud CONGRATULATIONS.

http://congratyou.win/lp and a whole bunch of stuff with my location, phone brand and make and operating system.

Got two more just trying to post this. I'm done browsing till this is fixed since it's impossible to browse anyway.

Just got hit couple of times by the Congratulations audio and spam site while browsing RFD.

I dont know if this is maybe related to the unable to connect to yellowID that the site had one week ago and last night.
