Nice! I find the 70-200mm by itself isn't able to get close enough for sports. Glad to see others think the same way and use a 1.4x TC.

Oh ... I use the 70-200 without the TC, for hockey. I also use it for soccer, on full frame for action right in front of me, as well as for more of an editorial style. I actually usually shoot Toronto FC stuff with the D300 + 300 2.8 + 1.4, and then the D3 + 70-200.

Shot high school soccer today with the D3 + 300 w/1.4 though.

Haven't really gone through the gallery yet. Photos aren't straightened either as I do that to order for the most part, but there's some in there. Only thing I hate, is that with field turf ... the heat waves off of the rubber cause soft photos over 45 yards or so sometimes.

Thanks! I do try. I am not as good at photos of cars, sports, or cityscapes like our other talented RFD photographers here though. Everyone has a niche and should develop it until they're bored and work on another niche...
