'The Post' Meryl Streep Tom Hanks Steven Spielberg awards bait

Not for everyone, Spielberg dramatizes the Pentagon Papers leak abetted by frequent collaborator Hanks and Streep (who was supposed to appear in Minority Report)

But it isn't unanimity at RT

Honestly it's the kind of prestige pic that's probably a little high brow for me
All the President's Men was alright but I've never revisited Spielberg's Lincoln

Streep + Hanks + Spielberg = Fishing for Oscars.

Saw the movie today. The first half was a snooze fest, quite slow & drawn out. The second half was pretty good & fast paced & some suspense.

But overall you get a feeling that you have already seen this type of movie & this type of story telling/acting/direction at least 3-4 times before.

Hollywood has already made similar movies before, you get that been there & done that & seen that feeling when watching this movie. Doesn't feel different or Unique.

Both Streep & Hanks are good. But they don't seem natural, its almost as if they are trying too hard to speak in a different style, mannerism, accent etc.

The direction is good, but you get that there is an agenda, propaganda type of feel to it.

Overall a good movie, but nothing great. So don't go with very high expectations, if & when you go to see it.

Considering the actors & director, I was expecting a much better product than what was presented, so mildly disappointed.
