I prefer a modern solid frame desk over a glass one. Mine was $800+ total, and it's a nice big sturdy office material desk from Office Place many years ago.
That Z-line glass desk was on sale several times already at Staples and Brick. Looks like a hot seller from the sound of this thread.

Thanks
She's a Jindo, Korean hunting dog. About a year and a half old now.
I had no place to put the huge sub and sub placement doesn't really matter since you feel it more so than hear it.
My room's really small, so I didn't have any spot near my desk since you have to place the sub at least 2 feet away from any electronic device.
This way I get to show it off too~! hahaha

I sure love that Z5500 control box, so sexy
Are you able to adjust each speakers volume individually? The magnet is massive in the sub, I was told to place it a distance from any other electronics but didnt know how far. Not sure if 2ft would be enough.
Since its a ported Sub, might want to try angling the sub so the port shoots into the corner...might give you smoother more even bass. Did with me.

I can adjust the centre, sub, and surround (left/right, and rears) through the control station and remote. I can however control each speaker's volume and all that jazz through my soundcard's controls. I have an X-Fi Xtrememusic.
By the way, what is the port on the sub? The big hole in it or the grilled part?
I had the hole facing the wall, but needed the serial cable to be longer so it would reach the control station on my desk without being too tight.
I also read this sub gives off a very strong magnetic field. The piece of paper that was stuck to the sub read at least 2 feet, but I would say 3-4feet should be plenty.
I wanted to place the sub under my desk to rest my feet on, but it seemed too close to my devices. Only a foot and a half or so from the top of the sub to the top of my desk space.
Careful with those huge subs you Z-5500 owners~! Do not place any laptops or harddrives on top of the thing while it's on~!
You've been warned.
Oh yeah, my spec's, Opty 146@2.8GHz, DFI Lanparty Ultra-D, XFX 7900GT 520M, X-Fi XtremeMusic, OCZ Powerstream 520W SLI, WD800JB, WD1600JB, WD740GD(Raptor 74GB), Seagate 320GB 7200.10, BenQ FP202W.
Oh and of course my new Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Channel speakers~!!!!
Oh and my XBOX 360 (Samsung drive) Finally working after going through 3 of them, but that's a whole different story for a different thread.

I searched Ikea's website, but couldn't find them. He said he got them for 19 dollars.
I want one.
I'm gonna check out Ikea on my day off on wednesday to see if I can find a set and a set of speaker stands for my z-5500's rears.

It's the Economy model from Dell's boxing day deals. But yea like was mentioned it is an Ikea Mount, funny I can't find it anymore on their site. But I picked mine up from Queensway/Kipling's Ikea. It was located in the self serve area of the store, in the same aisle as the CRT ceiling mount I believe.

Here's a newer pic (from today)

Thanks Dell-Deals for the 20 inch wide screen LCD. Next Dell-Deal (and next paycheck LOL) I might go for another monitor to make it a dual screen setup. Perfect for Flight Simulator X! Also, must get black speakers ASAP._______________Korean girlfriends? Learn to Google? Save money?

I have a laptop, so obviously no ext. soundcard. But my guess is that if I do get the 5500s it would be a waste without a 5.1 card? It will be used for my 360 in 5.1 and just music on my laptop. But if 1) I cant adjust each speakers volume individually through the 5500 control box and/or 2) Music through all 5 speakers in Pro Logic sounds sub par, then I guess I will either pass on them altogether or get them and invest in a 5.1 soundcard (though I really dont need 5.1 for my laptop since I will never play movies on it). hmmm in that case, chances are I will most likely pass. I dont need mind blowing sound when playing music through Pro Logic in all 5 speakers, just as long as it sounds just as good as my z2300s itll do the job.
That being said, I bought the Audigy 2ZS ext laptop soundcard about a year ago off some guy used for like $40 (retail $130!) and sold it for like $60. I really regret it now lol.
Ya the port is the hole.By the way, what is the port on the sub? The big hole in it or the grilled part?
