I guess I got lucky and just received this card. I didn’t realize it would be a tough card to get considering I just got approved/declined many credit application last two months.

Tangerine mc - existing and kept

Starting in Dec:
TD first class visa - approved
AX Colbalt - rejected
Costco capital one - approved
Capital one gold mc - cancelled after getting Costco mc
PC world elite mc - approved (only 1k limit)

TD personal LOC - approved
Simplii LOC - approved

Rogers MC (for traveling) - declined
Home trust preferred - approved (surprise)

Yes. I went crazy for all the applications.
My credit score went from 744 back in nov 2017 to 722 now.

No more credit application until my TD visa renewal. At that point, I may cancel it and try the Scotiabank momentum for the freebies.
What rate did you get on your Simplii LOC?

@andrew4321 As you're asking about the rate on a Simplii LOC I was setting up a Simplii bank account and since it didn't require another hard pull did an LOC application as well, $15k at Prime + 4.85%, so 8.05% right now. It's not great. It's still in my application list if I decide to take it in the next bit but meh.

Opening a bank account alone should not result in a hard pull, unless you are applying for overdraft protection.

There was no overdraft protection and they explicitly asked for permission to do so.

Mine is prime + 4.85% also.
My TD was higher.

My TD is Prime + 3%, which considering the only business I had with them was a credit card I was surprised to get.

How long have you been waiting after submitting the application? Did you call HT?

Actually it is very common for banks to run a credit check while opening a chequeing account.
That’s how they determine your ATM deposit release limits etc...
Of course you can request no credit check while opening an account in person, but you would be subject to 100% holds for the max amount of days.
Now obviously if you have a current relationship with a bank, and you open a chequeing account with that bank, there may not be a credit check at all, because you’re a current customer.

I applied right before Xmas and just got the card yesterday.
Didn’t call them.

So it sounds like a standard 2-week wait time. My card should arrive soon. Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes

No notifications, just a suprise mail with the PIN# around the 2-3 week mark; followed by the card in another 1-2 weeks.

Well that's if you're approved. He was asking about rejection.
