I would do London drugs but they told me they had no returns on cell phones which sucked.
otherwise the koodo service seems OK. this is my first android phone that i am actually using data and everything so cant really compare it. i have for another 30 days a prepaid telus account that if i decide i don't like koodo i can hopefully move to without unlocking.
This deal sounds like a pretty good deal on the Samsung Galaxy S11 phone at $49.99 with a $100 Best Buy card and the $150 Koodoo tab and the deal ends on Thursday December 27,2012. With a monthly $30 Canada wide promotional 200 MB data plan, with 150 minutes monthly calling, unlimited texts, voicemail, and call display it seems like a good cheap monthly plan with no contract to tie you down. Should I just go for that?

make sure MMS is included this phone takes good pictures.
My plan with bell is $20.75 a month prepaid for unlimited txt/pic/vid plus 100 megabytes of data.
I think its a great deal if u don't need voice often(20c/min)

Do you have to pay for a months service to Koodo after you pay off the $150 tab?

I just found out that Superstore's mobile phone store has a similar promotion except you get a $100 Superstore gift card which I can use more than the $100 Best Buy card plus they also have a promotion until the end of December 27,2012 for a scratch and save gift card with a minimum of an additional $25 Superstore gift card.....
Here are the odds for the Superstore gift cards $25 (60% chance), $50 (25%), $75 (10%), or $100 (5%)

Depends on when you cancel. Most people have had the cost prorated for the number of days the line was active.

I didn't have to give 30 days notice. I signed up on Dec 15, cancelled Dec 27, my bill was around $10 + $150 tab + taxes.

Newbie
Once your wife gets a nice new android phone to browse think she might use her phone more often? And maybe use more than 250mb of data, possibly more texts and calls? If you're using koodo, I would suggest the koodo $45 promotional plan. If she does go over the limits of the cheaper plan, the $45 plan may actually save you money.

I'm pretty sure it should work (Koodo on Telus Network). It's just like the 7-11 cell company on Rogers Network because they are probably partly owned by them.

I saw a post in another thread where a person said their Telus sim wouldn't work in the Koodo phone until it was unlocked. Weird, I know.

The phone will need to be unlocked...

Some people in another thread got an s2x that was unlocked.
I suggest that people check the phone with a sim from a different carrier to confirm that the phone is locked before going through the process of unlocking the phone.
