Pressurized pens - $2 walmart
Just picked up a couple of these...since I write at weird angles and my pen always dies...you can supposedly write upside down with these, as well as on wet surfaces and cold weather...
only thing is walmart does not sell refills for them...
they were on clearance here at walmart for $2 (stoney creek)
same one as these

Just tested them out and they work quite well...happy with the purchaseLast edited by x21hx; Apr 26th, 2006 at 07:00 PM.

Not too shabby.
Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode, The Pen.
HELEN: You shouldn't have said anything. What did you expect him to do? (the camera shows Elaine shaking her head at their dispute)
JERRY: He could have said: "Thank you, I like it too" and put it back in his pocket.
HELEN: He loves that pen.
MORTY: Oh come on!
HELEN: He talks about it all the time. Every time he takes it out he goes on and on about how it writes upside down, how the astronauts use it.
JERRY: If he likes it so much, he never should have offered it.
HELEN: He didn't think you'd accpet.
JERRY: Well, he was wrong.
HELEN: I know his wife. She has some mouth on her. She'll tell everyone in the condo now that you made him give you the pen. They're talking about it right now. (againe we see Elaine smiling at their argument)
JERRY: So you want me to return it?
HELEN: Yes.
MORTY: He's not gonna return the pen. That's ridiculous.
JERRY: Hey I don't even want the pen now!
MORTY: Jack can afford to give away a pen with all his money. Believe me. He gives me a check for 19.45. He didn't have a Coke. Ho, ho, ho!

This design (pressurized ink cartridge) is same concept used by astronauts.
I can't remember the movie but the quote is "It cost NASA 2 million dollars and 1 year to develop a pen that could write in space. The Russians used a pencil."
Ether way, can't really beat the price!

It wasnt because they were so smart....they didnt have any money left after all the money spent with the cold war......UNREAL.
The Americans might have spent a lot of money....thats what they do...but the technology is prob used elsewhere....or in some other application.
Some country in the Far East ( no country mentioned) has prob stolen it by now.

But of course. George wouldn't carry a pencil because he was afraid it would puncture his scrotum. The pen meant a retractable writing utensil that, when extended, could double as a scrotum-puncturing weapon against hostile alien lifeforms.

myself as well...I do most of my design (programming) laying down in bed..so sometimes my pen is upside down or horizontal....and sometimes i'll sit up and write at weird angles....rarely do I ever sit at a desk and write...so it's quite handy for me

hi,
Went to Walmart in east end of Montreal to check for the pens. The only one found was made by Uniball and it scanned at the sticker price of $3.26. Might be $2 store-specific rather than chain-wide.
