Thanks OP!

I bought the P580 at 450$ on boxing day. It was saying it had a 100$ discount. They were trying to make me beleive that the regular price was 550, and now the reg price is at 380???? WTF...
I'll go get a price match + 10% difference this weekend.

Should I call you MR Vostro 2420. Men Dell should hire you as their CSR as I found you post in every laptop, desktop deal thread promoting vostro 2420 :)

I saw U410 for $599 with i5+nvidia GPU a few days ago in the Levono store.
Why did you not post that hot deal in this forum then? :( (but $350 including tax more)

I agree with you. However I will stop considering buying this if you both can assure me that the two hot deals of yours will come back in two weeks as I don't have the time machine.

Won't it have to be in stock to do the price match? It could sell out soon? Take screen shots now with the date and time showing it in stock, it could help. Sooner is maybe better than later to get the price adjustment done. Good luck!

Actually I missed the deal myself. I thought it was ending on 3rd. It was ending by 2nd. No one can assure you anything. This deal is hot if you don't mind the refreb and the size. It is a decent deal.

the vostro 2420 has been somewhat of a constant deal

If you're not in a hurry, id say wait for it. It is better in every regard for its intended purpose ( word processing, browsing etc )

Depends on the card. Go to their website to check the terms and conditions. I never had a problem, but that was in the competitive US, not the corporate-collusive country called Canada.
Yeah, gotta check your cc. Out of interest, I have a CIBC Divindend 1% Visa which requires that the full purchase price (they bolded it too so no misunderstanding!) must be paid on the cc, but no exclusions regarding refurbished items. OTOH, is "refurbished" considered used, preowned or demo b/c the agreement does exclude those.

Thanks to you both now :)

I missed that 2420 deal too (I also missed the price error TP twist :( )

As I am in need of a cheap reasonable laptop I am concerned what if the vostro 2420 deal is not coming back. And this is cheap (P580) with I5, usb 3 and HD4000 and big HD. The vostro 2420 is new, quality..? (I heard it has some HD issue and who know what else) and i3..

In my opinion, the best reason why this is a hot deal is that the V570 (and B570, not sure about others) is VERY EASY to "hackintosh". I have set these up for several friends/family and both Windows 7 and Mac sides work seamless.
I have one I use regularly, installed 120GB SSD, and put original 750GB that came with it in a hard drive caddy (in optical bay). Have to either add compatible WiFi card (cheap on E-Bay) or use Nano USB one that is compatible with Mac to get Internet on the Mac side.

Can't beat a Macbook Pro for this money !!!!

Thanks for interesting info. Is it also applicable for P580. I think I will go for the deal. I already missed two good deals because of hesitation and thinking too much
