there's no competition for the wrt54gl nor is any of the parts being used suffering a massive drop in price. So no, doesn't look like it will drop in price soon. but its always good to wait till boxing day, since the prices at boxing day and shouldn't be worse than now.

Price for a WRT54GL
I see the WRT54GL router on sale for around $60 now. Are router prices pretty much stagnant now or will there be any drastic drops in the near future (or even christmas/boxing day)?

There's more choices then just the Linksys WRT54GL. The Asus WL-520GU can be had for around $250-$30 AR and has just as good specs + USB port and supports the same 3rd party firmware (DD-WRT, Tomato) that the Linksys does.

I have considered the Asus WL-520GU as well, it seems to be priced better. Just missed the sale at Infonec which had a sweet $20 rebate. The USB port may not work with the DD-WRT firmware, it's been iffy so far on the forums.
Frankly, I am looking to use an additional router as a bridge for my current WRT54GL. I hope something hot comes up very soon for either the Linksys or Asus.

Got mine from NCIX two months ago for 39.99$. I bought the ASUS 520GU for my cousin, it's pretty good once you've flashed it to a third party firmware.. the stock one looks horrible!

I'm still looking for a good deal on this router as well, I've missed out on the 39.99 deals from dell, compu2000 etc but I hope something comes up soon. My DI-624 is pretty brutal. It doesn't seem like staples or fs carries this model either so that doesn't help, the only place in SK that sells it locally is OTV and it's going for $72.00...

I was checking DirectCanada's price earlier and it looks like this router is back to the $64-5 level. Quite surprising a few months ago it was going for $39.99 and then slowly inflating its way back to the current level.
I am glad I got two of these (with one running as access point and the other as wireless bridge). Rock stable and good transmission with Tomato.

$39.99 was when the CAD$ was equal to the US$.
Nowadays with 80 cents dollar you wont see this price anymore.
Compu2000 has it for $52.99 which is almost the same $39.99 with the new exchange rate.
