From the article "remove police floats and marches from their annual parade " and "They had asked for nine demands to be met, one of which included a ban on police at future events."
Thanks - but it's already been clarified by Pride that it was a vote on banning FLOATS AND MARCHES - not on their presence in their capacity as police.

Banning the police from Pride was never on the table - that much has been clearly stated.

They need to figure out how police will participate in Pride now, not whether they will be present. As far as participating in the parade itself through floats, that's banned.

black racism is the worst of all racism, unlike white racism it seems that black racism combines ignorance + stupidity + racism rolled into one neat package. BLM proves this over and over again and this anti-pride stance now is just plain stupid when it comes to the type of decisions BLM makes (but I am not surprised, BLM isn't run by a bunch of geniuses in the first place).

So if you're a black gay police officer, what happens now? lol such idiots

and BLM in Canada?

they should rename themselves to Black Cardings Matter to better reflect the issues of policing here instead, but that kind of takes the shock factor away.

They can march in the parade as an individual.

"Black Lives Matter has previously stated that individual officers identifying as LGBTQ should be welcome to march in the parade as individuals, but the issue was not discussed on Tuesday."

BLM should be banned from everything. They are a joke here. I wish our spineless politicians would stand up to them.

Too bad. I liked going to the pride parade in the past and I was very impressed at how active police were at shutting down those who tried to disrupt it.
Welp, with the police gone now, let's see how much disruption people will cause.

Then wouldn't it be easier to just ban BLM and have all blacks march as individuals?

Bullnonsense. Do they know or recognize how hard it was for a gay officer to be out? For BLM to dictate that LGTB officers can't participate as celebrants of their acceptance in the workplace blows my mind. But they can be there to protect BLs...Well that's fine.

I feel very let down by pride.

BLM should hold their own Parade.

Honestly... cancel the parade. These are held on public streets, at the goodwill of the City and it's police force. Our public streets should not be used for exclusion of certain groups.
