If you are thinking of buying an inkjet you would be wise to check the cost of consumables rather than the cost of the printer. (amount of ink you get per cartridge and how much each one costs.)
A $60 printer sounds great until you realize you're spending an extra $120+ a year in ink over a printer that would have cost $80-100 more.

cnet and some other places review printers based on a cost per page. Before you settle on a printer check reviews and consumables costs.

- all in 1 laser printers at BB are $179-900
-regular lasers are $80-450 at BB
keep in mind it may be a bit more than you are willing to spend, but for everyday use they might outlast you before you have to buy a new printing head thing (cant think of the proper name)
but you are right about the color lasers as the cheapest is $280
but as far as regular printers I would say buy HP or Canon. affordable printers and the new cartidges are descantly priced compared to the other companies (Lexmark and BROTHER are wayyyy more expensive) Of course dont take my word for it. Do the research and see what you find out, but just giving my 2 cents. Also...keep in mind if you buy a cheap HP or Canon there are alot of generic cartridges out there for a fraction of the price.
