If you're happy with the printer.. keep it.. I would suggest looking at http://www.blankmedia.ca/ for carts, you might get a better deal, delivery is fast.

Printer ink
I have always bought a new printer over buying refills, but I am quite happy with my current printer - the Lexmark X7170.
Should I just buy a printer cartridge or is island inkjet really a good alternative? (Or something other solution...?)

I found Island Inkjet to be hit and miss. Not all employees seem to know what they were doing or sloppy. I'll spend the extra money and buy the original ink cartridges, no more ink clogging risks nor cleaning nozzles. Took more ink to perform cleaning operation on printer.

I've always bought ink from Future Shop or Staples, OEM or house brand. One of them always has ink on sale. The house brands are cheaper but the colours are a little off & the black isn't as dark. Current Staples' flyer is states they will give you a $3 in-store ink cartridge coupon for an empty Lexmark/HP or Dell cartridge.

To save $$$ & take a chance on plugging up the spray nozzles, isn't worth it. If you're putting a high volume of paper through your ink jet printer, maybe it's time for you to invest in a laser printer.

i bought my inks form 123shop on ebay for my canon last year; a years supply (3 of each colour and 4 of the black for printing text, 16 in all) for about $30usd. don't really need to sharp colours just need it to print and so far no problems but they don't seem to have anymore in stock...

I am a fan of Max Fill on Sheppard and Brimley and each time a new post relating to refilling a cartridge, I have alway recommanded them. I have 4 printer for vaious tasks and I like the print head style like Lexmark and HP. Don't like Epson or Canon because the print head gets stuck after a while of use. The reason I like their service is first they have a better price as compared to Island Inkjet and Cartridge World and they are the only one that could give the quality that I needed if the print head is a little dry. I have tried using Island when the cartridge dries out a little bit and the results were poor, but Max did a super job on that. Any one wants a great quality refill, give them a try!
