Problem installing cards to PCI slots
I'm having problems securing a tv tuner card. When the card is seated firmly in place, I can't screw it in because the holes don't match. What's the best solution to this?

The problem is usually caused by improper/uneven motherboard standoffs (those brass screw thingie underneath the motherboard.

So would re-seating the motherboard help at all? Or is it more of a flaw in the board itself? The other cards seem to fit fine. Thanks.

It's unlikely to be the motherboard unless it was damaged. Try uninstalling your other cards, loosening the screws of your motherboard so that it has a little wiggle room, then see if you can install the card (to see if the motherboard was just at a bad angle before). If it fits that way, tighten the motherboard screws and see if your other cards still fit. If it still won't go, there's something wrong with your case, the standoffs themselves, or your new TV tuner.

Thanks for the tips. I tried fiddling with the cards and motherboard, but in the end, the only way I could make it work was by removing one of the screws in the tv tuner card. This loosened up the metal faceplate to allow for more movement. Hope this doesn't compromise anything!

I find that straightening the tab at the bottom of the slot cover with a pair of pliers does the trick.

I have ended up cutting the end of the back cover because it was too long one time. Guess the maker of the cards did not know how to use a measure tape.
Not really good to have it loose if you are always playing with cables back there. But if you are leaving it then not much risk.
