Holding you hostage to international travel does not make their position correct, just powerful.

If I use the 3 digits of my postal code and put 00 at end to make it a zip code; only concern is will it process or will the system flag it because the postal code doesn't match with what I have on my credit card file.
Most people use this paying at gas stations and they don't get flagged, so I don't think it's that big of an issue.

Are you saying you paid $25 to mail them the $13 US payment?

I tried that trick using the 3 digits of my postal code to make a zip code but it did not work on their oinline system.

No. Canada Post asked for 25$ for express post which is insane for a 13$ bill, so I opted for regular post; cost to send was 1$ and change.

Quick solution to pay your E-Z Pass violation online on http://e-zpassny.com/payviolation!

As a Canadian, I was having the same issue reported here with my "ZIP code not matching the selected state". I then entered a US ZIP code (02116) and selected a US State (MA) matching that ZIP code. I left my real street address and city untouched and the payment went thru without a hitch! Don't know if this hack will work for everyone, but it's worth a try!

You can try to enter using 3 numbers of your postal code + any 2 numbers to form a valid US zip code (you can try to search that zipcode on Google to see there is any match).

Good advice - I have used this method several times while travelling in the US.

I would say, if you drive to the northeast states several times a year (which I do), you might as well get an E-ZPass. They are essentially the same as the 407 transponders but white with no LED's or audible alerts.

And unlike 407, you don't pay to rent/subscribe it. You prepay US$25 onto your account, they send you the transponder... and when your balance drops below $10, your credit card is charged $25 to automatically top it up again. If you want your balance refunded you return the transponder and cancel your account. That's it. It's like a free Presto card :-)

[I keep hoping someday 407 joins the E-ZPass network... so I can just ditch the 407 device]

Hello! I had the same problems with paying my fine and after reading some posts, was able to pay my fine with the automated on-line service. I paid with my Visa

When entering your postal code, only enter the numbers followed by 2 numbers to make a valid us postal code. After finding that valid code, enter your street address, but change the country and state to match the zip code. I used this site: http://www.geonames.org/postalcode-sear ... country=us

Worked like a charm. mid you, I kept my transaction ID just in case.

Hop it works for you!
