When I had a 2005 Mazda3 I had a pretty good experience with Westowne Mazda. They had over $5,000 worth of warranty work done on it (rust) and I wasn't charged a penny. Didn't have to argue with them or anything of that sort for them to honour the warranty. OP, like the posters above said, try a different dealership.

This is bs, if they loved it so much why is it so hard to get them to honour warranty?
Fact is, corporate don't pay them anywhere near their hourly rate to perform warranty work. Why would they like that when they have a backlog of out of warranty cars they could be working on at full rate?

my friends mazdas all died within 5-7years. op should keep his car until it dies. no point on spending money on a car that is KNOWN to be unreliable.

It's not hard at all, I've taken my cars dozens of times to various dealers for warranty work (big and small jobs). Never paid a cent for non wear and tear items.
And of course they make a profit on warranty, a very large chunk of their business is warranty, no idea where you're getting your info from. Any credible dealer should be establishing a relationship with their in-warranty customers so there's added incentive there also.
If the OP is having issues I encourage you to file a claim/complaint with the manufacturer. They usually have a hotline where you can offload your issues and what your dealer has done (or not) to address them.

dealers usually makes less money on warranty work vs maintenance work from customers. but if a shop isnt busy, they should be more than happy to do warranty work.

ok so here is the update..
went to Yorkdale-Dufferin mazda yesterday and they test drove the car for 1km.. yes.. 1 freakin km at around 10 kmph
one guy went out with the car, came back and said he couldn't hear anything.. then the service manager did the second run and also said he couldnt hear anything.. They also told me that they put the car on the hoist to look underneath and couldn't find a problem.. They said they won;t charge me anything this time, and that they would gladly look into it further on my next service appointment. ( i don't do service at mazda anymore so i guess that's how they are trying to get me back in.)
anyhow, I was pissed and couldn't deal with anymore of these shady dealerships (agincourt mazda, markham mazda, and yorkdale dufferin mazda are all crap)..
I took the car back home and jacked it up so i can take a look underneath. What I saw was a broken license plate light that had broken off the bumper. Someone must have hit my rear bumper to break the light. Luckily there are no scratches or dents. I macgyvered it back in place and its nice and sturdy now.
The damn light was hanging so they must all be blind. They also must be deaf because it rattles so loud that my dashcam can even record it when my music is not playing.

If you do decide to bring your car to another dealer for the problem, insist that you go along in the ride, better yet, insist that you drive the car so they can pay more attention to the sound.
