I'd be interested to know as I'll be moving into a new house and would like a 16:9 in the basement; now I'm using an old (10+ years) Dalite 4:3.

I'm thinking of creating my own fixed frame and use blackout cloth to create. It. Should run me 100 buck Roughly.

OP - how big is big ?

If you are looking for a cheap 100" screen then they can be had for about $100.

Once you start going bigger then it becomes more economic to build your own plus it will be of better quality.

I just built a 125" 16:9 screen and it cost me about $250 when all said and done.

I ordered my material from the states from Carls Place - http://www.carlofet.com/projector-screen-material.html

Im sure the blackout cloth is fine but depending on your room and projector you may want to try the flexiwhite or flexigrey.

I like the roll away option as it will be a multipurpose room and the screen will be in front of closet doors so I can't have a fixed frame. 100" will be perfect, will keep looking, not a big priority at this point so I can bargain hunt.

this is the screen that I bought 4-5 years ago for $100, I got mine from Future Shop but Costco also had the same one but looks like they are listing it anymore - http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/accuscreen- ... 0002969496

Looks like with most things, they have become more expensive.

Here is one I just found on Amazon - http://www.amazon.ca/Elite-Screens-M100 ... otr+screen

I made my screen 109.5" x 61.5" which is just a shade over 125" diagonal.
