hehe, I realized that was a bit too nutty after I posted that. But actually not by much. At once point a few years ago, with Margin at Questrade, I technically could have done that. I believe Questrade gives you 3 to 1 margin extensions.
Oh, QQQ did not go up near the end of day yesterday, my OTA friends stopped out with 1 cent loss (boy their stops are tight). So, they only gained on the way down from that Supply Zone. So sad.... $1.49 profit per share.... <--- joke

Levels at work again today, ES future levels matched up exactly as OTA showed. Profit for today = $110 USD. thanks to QQQ and RIMM.
Shorting RIMM is getting to be pretty sweet each day. In the morning, RIMM pops up to $7.xx while market is dropping. One must see that institutions are playing games here. Obvious short at those levels. Then in less then 20min, it drops to 6.87. Easy 25 cent profit/share here. 1000 shares is no problem = $250 buckaroos in 20min. Heck, even 2000 shares is not stretching it.

Another set of free, excellent articles. Great for everyone to read, especially beginners in the stock market trading.

An oldie but goodie: http://lessons.tradingacademy.com/ar...or-anticipate/
I describe technical analysis as being more like detective work than anything else. To me, a price chart is a roadmap of subtle clues. This roadmap shows us the events of the past and the events of the present. If I look closely enough, these charts will actually show me the footprints of all the buyers and sellers in the market and what happened at the key market turning points. We can tell if Supply was greater than Demand, suggesting that prices will fall if they come to this area again or vice versa. We can get hints on how a market is trending, showing weakness, telling me to sell or showing me strength to buy. When we know how to interpret this activity on a chart, we have a very powerful tool to work with because we can objectively analyze the events of the past and the present, to give us clues as to what could happen in the futureLast edited by rfdrfd; Jul 24th, 2012 at 04:25 PM.

Here's a perfect example of big institutions using Technicals to trade. I mean really, 4 days in a row:
Short at the top circle, cover/exit at the bottom circle. Rinse, and repeat.
I grabbed ~$100 yesterday and I just grabbed $330 just now (blue circles) with 1500 shares shorting.

www.freestockcharts.com ABSOLUTELY free. Its not amazing, but hey, its free and from like all the examples I've posted here on RFD, I've clearly shown just looking at PRICE is enough to earn you some extra bucks.

BRCM - another example of Technical Analysis working for you
Here's another one from today. My group took it, I didn't, just watched. Since I already did great with RIMM. Let's not get greedy here.
Draw Supply zone from the left (before that big drop), price today came into the zone, short it say
Short: 33.81
Current price: 33.32
Profit = $0.49 USD per share. 500 shares = $ 245 ; 1000 shares = $ 490 profits.
That's amazing if you ask me for 1 day of work. Not really work if you set it up from proper education on TA.
Oh ya, this trade may not be over yet. But Target 1 should be hit already, so one should have locked in 50% of your profits and move stop to breakeven. Thus, you CANNOT lose from this point on. You are playing with house money
So yet another example. I'm not sure what more everyone here needs to see until you finally admit that Technical Analysis does work, and markets are trading with TA. Yes, fundamentals should work too, but TA is so much more simpler and easier to do.
JUST look at PRICE alone. Learn how to read charts. Notice I didn't care about volume, Bollinger bands, Moving averages, NOTHING. Still can earn you money.

Just to show you how serious Technical Analysis and Online Trading Academy is. Here is a live shot of the 2 hr session that going on right now live online.
This is part of their XLT program (you have to buy a lifetime membership of course).
Note: there's 341 participants right now watching this. So, there are >340 pairs of eyes looking at the same stock, teacher teaches us how to set it up, everyone asks questions, and when the price comes into our zone, we can all pounce on it (with our real accounts).
Think about this: who are you trading with when you click BUY/SHORT ? Look around, anyone else there to help you? Well, I have 300+ people helping me out when i click the button on that trade. Think of the benefits. Emotional or probability.
Today's topic is on Breakout Strategies. He showed us Pro-picks from past year with tons of successes. And those that didn't work, your stop kicked you out for a small loss.

Okay, are you kidding me !!! WOW, what a homerun BRCM turned out to be. its 3:43pm, 17min to close of market. My friend is still short in this, bravo !
Not sure if you all get how amazing it is to be able to predict the TOP of the price and then ride it down perfectly. A 93 cents profit in one day !!! That's almost a 3% gain in one day. How many YEARS of GIC do you need to hold to get 3% ? http://www.ingdirect.ca/en/save-invest/gic/index.html
Oh, I'm sorry, you CANNOT even get 3% right now in ING direct. 5 yr GIC = 2.25%
I'm so happy for my friends in my group.

UPDATE: ZNGA is down 40% now, trading with a $2 handle
They said it could never happen. They said it was social, mobile, everything... Well, oops... It seems the drought conditions around the world have hit the virtual farms too. Let it 'Virtual Rain'
*ZYNGA 2Q REV. $322.5M, EST. $343.1M
*ZYNGA 2Q ADJ. EPS 1C, EST. 6C
*ZNGA SEES YR EPS ADJ 4C-9C, SAW 23C-29C, EST. 27C
and with that 33% of market cap is wiped away... and the derivative play - Facebook is down 7% after-hours and EURUSD is dipping as all that virtual cash is vaporized (yes seriously EURUSD is dropping!). We assume that very soon, congressmen around the country will be calling for a government intervention as the hand-of-god impacts these poor virtual farmers. FYI - Margin Stanley is the largest ZNGA holder at 13.84%._______________
