the decline is the least used, and the flat is the most used.
better to replace one of the decline benches with a flat bench

i cant tell, but i think i see 2 squat racks and 2 power racks

IMO it is better to have all power racks, they do everything a squat rack does, and more
Thanks for the feedback and good suggestions! I will relay it for sure.

Totally agree regarding the power racks vs squat racks and functionality. Also regarding the benches, not sure what stage they're at with the vendors but will suggest perhaps swapping either a decline or military with an additional flat.

Based on the feedback relayed from this thread, confirmed updates are that there will be 4 POWER RACKS - no half racks, and also 3 OLY Flat benches..

Also rec'd the following updated layout pics of the weights/resistance area - minor variations in paint colours and equipment colours may happen in actual:

Site should be up shortly.. because of delay in permits, they didn't want to start advertising and then have to push out dates... the description provided was:
Iron Fitness Strength Club is not your average “club” gym or 24hr gym. Our facility is focused on functional and strength training, having over 7,000 lbs in plate weights, 600lbs in bumper plates, 4 power racks and 2-3 sets of major olympic benches. Our dumbbells go from 5lbs to 140lbs and kettlebells from 5lbs to 35lbs, both rare for a “club” gym and not heard of in other 24hr gyms.

Every piece of plate-loaded equipment was carefully hand-picked to ensure we have the most functional and effective machines available, and a complete set of selectorized resistance circuit machines to cater to all levels of physical ability – from beginners to experienced, and from young adults to those in their golden years.

For cardiovascular health, we have 25+ cardio machines, ranging from treadmills, ellipticals and bikes, to cross trainers, arc trainers and stair masters – covering all effective types of cardio machine training.

24 hour electronic access 365 days per year provides members the luxury and convenience of access at any time, without having to worry about being kicked out at 7pm on a weekend or being closed on holidays like the “club” gyms.

Located less than 1 km from Mount Joy GO station, members can conveniently squeeze in a workout before or after work, or can have a short walk from the residences on Castlemore & Bur Oak Avenue.

Low cost daily, monthly, semi-annual and annual subscriptions will allow members the flexibility to tailor their own membership costs, with no hassles of sneaky contracts.
In terms of actual numbers and business plan, I'd have to verify. Why do you ask?

Man I am so in on this, pay about 40/ at snap and have no complaints but would totally switch to this location given it's a 5 min walk from my house. 24 hour access is a must given my schedule.

Suggestion is to change the name to something maybe more appealing to the ladies. iron fitness sounds so bro-centric ...where the cat's go dog's will follow :-)

From their FB page:

@Ironfitness247's goal is simple: to provide #women & #men the means & #equipment 24/7, to become as #strong & #healthy as they possibly can. We are not a "boutique" gym, nor are we a "social" #fitness club. You won't find #zumba here, nor any of the latest #flavourofthemonth fad workouts or equipment.

We believe in keeping things simple, basic and in the timeless - tried, tested & true methods of functional training. Lots of free weights and racks for compound movements as well as specially selected Body Masters converging plate-loaded equipment which mimic dumbbell lifts to assist you in transitioning to free weights while providing a more functional movement vs fixed stationary bar plate-loaded machines.

For those that are starting out and feel hesitant to start off with free-weights or are part of a rehab or general health program - our complete weight circuit will help you stay strong and even become more confident in transitioning to either the free-weights or the plate-loaded equipment.

Forget about the colourful neoprene dumbbells here - we have dumbbells that go from 5lbs to 140lbs and kettlebells that go up to 35lbs. The only colourful item we have in our gym are our Olympic bumper plates which you can use on our platform to hammer out your Olympic lifts.

Our staff comprising of a powerlifter in training (Sriram Pakeerathan), a champion natural bodybuilder (Carlo Lontuc) and an experienced women's fitness rep (Ana Popeskov) were selected out of 60+ applicants for the position because of their drive for success, passion for strength & fitness and their enthusiasm to help others and provide knowledge & assistance where they can during staffed hours.

If you're looking for saunas, hot yoga, spin classes, pilates, aerobics, tanning, steam rooms, bosu balls, zumba or colourful dumbbells - we are not for you (fortunately or unfortunately)

For Women & Men who are: looking to be as strong as they possibly can, looking to lose fat and gain muscle as effectively & efficiently as possible, looking for functional strength that can be used in every day tasks, looking to age with strength vs becoming 'brittle' with age, and work out with like minded individuals and prefer a no BS approach to strength & fitness - Iron Fitness Strength Club is definitely for you.

Our doors will open soon, we can't wait to see you "Forge a better you" — at Iron Fitness Strength Club Inc.

y2jversion1 wrote: A client of mine will soon be opening a 6000 sqft gym on Markham Rd (Hwy 48) just south of Major Mackenzie - a bare-bones facility (for now) with about 3200 sqft dedicated to weights (free weights, power racks, etc) and about 1000 sqft dedicated to cardio (treadmills, ellipticals, recumbant bikes, etc). Due to timing and budget, the proposed style would be like Snap Fitness in terms of no showers, however lockers & change rooms will be available as well as a couple of bathrooms, and 24-7 FOB access with 9am to 8pm (plus/minus a couple hours) staffed hours.

Based on discussion, proposed pricing would likely be $32.50 + HST / month on an annual subscription, around $40 + HST for month to month and he is also considering pre-paid annual memberships, but in order to pay for FOB and admin costs, a $25 one-time admin fee.

The location would be fronting on Markham Rd (Hwy 48) for ease of access and is across from a busy plaza.

For those that live in that area (off 16th, Bur Oak, Castlemore & Major Mack - east & west of Markham Rd) where do you currently hold your memberships and what are the rates that you're paying? Would the price points make you consider the facility if it had a solid weight room & cardio area? I know the Snap Fitness @ Markham & 14th and the Anytime Fitness in Box Grove are quite busy and cost more in terms of membership, so I see the proposed price schedule be a plus point to bring in members and having a successful facility but wanted opinions as I want to ensure that it is a beneficial move for him.

RFD helped Riz1 & I shape our RE business, so I figured I'd do him a favour and get some valued opinions (wealthy client for life, need to go the extra mile ;) )
I currently go to Pound for Pound an MMA gym that recently also opened up their own gym as well beside the brick on Markham Rd and castlemore . (3 showers) change rooms etc. only 25$ a month.......

Huge differences are that P4P is not 24/7 and have pretty early hours (I drive by there at 9 pm and it's closed) and also the amount and type of equipment.
