Protecting valuables (camera) from pickpocketers

How do you prevent items like cameras from being stolen? I can protect my money by not bringing a wallet and hiding the cash in a money belt. But photography is a hobby while going on trips, so I wouldn't want to miss out on that by not bringing the camera with me. Right now it's small enough to clip onto a belt.

yeah
YOU are the best protection
always keep an eye on the bag with your passport and stuff

especially going to washrooms and places
check rental cars before returning them

try to attach your belongings to yourself with lanyards or neckstraps

it helps

mount it on a metal plate then glue it to your head...jj...its tough out there...especially the smaller technology gets, the easier it is for us too loose something. i think by putting it around your head is dangerous, it be just like wearing a gold chain and then walking around on the beaches of venezuela
