i think the best mod for the old ps2 u have is the harddrive mod.. well, its not even a mod.. u just buy that disk for 30US and stick in your 120gig harddrive or whatever and backup from there.
all u need is the disk, harddrive, and if u dont have one, a network adapter.

PS2 Mods E-Human at Crystal Mall
It took me like 20 minutes wandering the mall, but I've finally found this place. My friend suggested to go here to get a PS2 with a mod. He bought a PS2 from them 3 years ago and it still works fine. This was the only seller I could find in Vancouver.
Has anyone ever dealt with this store before? They are selling premodded slim PS2s with Matrix Infinity Chips for 300 dollars flat. The problem is, I don't know how their reputation is like. (Perhaps they would give me a used slim and I would never know? Or a fake chip?). The PS2 also comes with 1 month warentee.
I have a choice between them or nonanon, who is very reputable and have been helping me greatly with finding out information on mod chips/PS2/etc lately. He has a great warrentee too and the crystal chip sounds good, but then if I can get it local for 300 dollars as well, might as well get it local.
The modder at E-Human said that the Matrix chips used to have problems and would cause mechron crashes, but that was only with the old fast PS2. Anyone know if this is true? (Oh, I am planning to get a brand new PS2 Slim with a mod)Last edited by MilkyWind; Jul 24th, 2005 at 05:32 PM.

If nonanan has assisted you in the past, why don't you buy from him to return the favour?

It comes down basically to the Matrix Chip VS the Crystal Chip.
Originally, I was looking into getting a Matrix or DMS4 chip, until I met nonanon. Surely, I myself would recommend nonanon to anyone I know too (I have quite a few friends in toronto) if they ever are in need to buy a PS2.
In terms of cost, the Matrix chip is more expensive than the crystal chip. The only problem is, I am afraid it's possible that the guy would give me a clone matrix chip instead of a real matrix and I would never know.
I have almost no friends that know about/own PS2, as they grew up with nintendo64/xbox. The only person I do know in real life, who is also supposed to be a mod expert, put me on blocked when I said hi. He's also popular on this forum. (Seriously, if you are reading this right now, what have I ever done to you. I've always tried to be a good friend to you and over the years, you started to hate me just because of who I am and my personality?)
